You have a saying: the horse and the rider, as one.

[If one needs proof that Fyra had lost the exchange against the Second Rider, then look no further than the wreck of Morte that lies in one of the UG's hangars. The Steed remains in its bipedal mecha form, sat up against one of the empty walls.

The damage it received was severe, and nothing can be done to aid in its recovery. Only time can allow Morte to stand once again.]

We agreed to this course of action. Tver had to be stopped, and we knew that this would be the result.

Yet, I feel as if I should have found another way.

[Especially with that last bit from the hostile Rider about 'fixing' herself...whatever that entails.]

[Some time after Lord of War...]

Well folks. Time to say goodbye.

...

Not forever, of course. I'll just be gone for a while. Got a job in Mexico. I'll head out as soon as Steel Wanderer is fully fixed. I talked with the bosses and they gave their okay. I should be back in a few days or a week. This isn't anything complex, but it's stuff these folks need help with. 'Sides, they pay pretty well.

...

I'll see you later, alright? If Morte wakes up, say hi to him from me.

With the situation surrounding the Lady unfolding, and more threats looming over the horizon, a request is sent via video mail to all UG members. The sender? A certain friend of Willis, who tries to hide her concern behind a smile.

"Good day everyone. I know this isn't the best time to ask a favor of you since you're trying to figure out what to do, but I'll need a small group to accompany me to a certain facility for a short while. It's an old place that hasn't been used for some time, so I have some concerns about security. There's something I need to retrieve there, and on the bright side, maybe we'll find some of the leftover equipment useful too."

If anyone wants payment for this, I'll be glad to arrange something. Just know that I wouldn't be making a request like this if it wasn't important. Thanks."

I said I need not protection. I saw sure I saw through the Nemeian Killer's weakness. I knew how to exploit it. And yet...

And yet sometimes that is not enough, is it?

What is a 'WMD' anyway?

[One quick browse for information later.]

I suppose we were very fortunate to have reacted so quickly then. Yes, fortunate indeed.

[She puts a hand on her stomach, suddenly feeling not too good.]
Here's a transmission from Abel Meyers, who unceremoniously skips protocol and just calls you directly like it was a phonecall.

"Hello Unity Group. Do you know the Metis Group of Companies? Specialized in healthcare, agriculture and so... oh, right. We did have this talk already."

"Anyway I realize the time's not been the best, but I'll have to ask you to lend me your strength once again. My company discovered a Rider's tomb, but this time everyone was very fast, commendable! What I am saying is Stigma did not make its move yet, we were there first - but even without their leader, I'm sure they won't just do nothing. Please guard the tomb before another Rider is unleashed on the world."

"Oh."

"Speaking of Stigma's leader, I did some digging - of the non-archeological kind. Silon's real identity was that of Damien Sears. He was a genius and an enterpreneur, not unlike myself. It looks like we were rivals in more than one area of life, but he disappeared. After Earth was warped to that another world and then returned, all track was lost of him. I suppose we know what happened now."

You get a message on your comms from Dido, inviting you to one of the lounges in the Saikhama hanger bays.

Upon arrival, you discover that furniture and tables have been shifted to the side, making room for a chalkboard. A huge old-school chalkboard on wheels, pea-green and with a wood-framed ledge for colored chalk-sticks.

Dido nods to you as you walk in, sternly tapping some chalk to the board.

"So," she says. "Loni and the terrible trio have all the Seals. Soon, they'll make their move to summon the Lady upon this world. Brye and Rani are standing by the wings, ready to hijack the Lady's power and somehow use it to wish away suffering. The Lady herself managed to influence the Lady's Good Men, the UG's foundation and Loni's whole upbringing, despite being in a different dimension. Worse, we still don't know what her true power or form is."

Dido starts writing on the chalk board. "If we're gonna win, we have to figure out what's coming. That means assembling clues, testing theories and answering key questions..."

Dido underlines each question on the board, and turns to face you all. "Class is in session, guys," she pronounces.
[In the wake of everything that happened at the "ESUN funders" meeting place, and her sudden-if-unwitting assistance in Loni getting the last Seal, Eva's been confined to bases for the immediate future. Also, she's absolutely pissed, if the way she's going to town on that sandbag is anything to judge by.]

You...stupid...cow!!

[And yelling at it. There's that too.]

Why the hell should you trust that rock?! Why the hell should you trust Loni! Why should I trust you, huh?!

[Spots of blood start to appear on the sandbag, and on the floor. Eva's been at this for a while with no protection; her knuckles have split open. She gives a 'tch,' and walks off to sulk on a bench by the side of the room.]

All I had to do was wait, and some magic rock was going to save me...? Like hell...

Grace is sitting on the cafetaria, reading some news on her pda. She looks pretty dejected.

"We're in a pretty dark days, aren't we?" She says. "First, Eria is destroyed, with its people dead, getting crazy, or worse. There might be cosmic monster rising from there too, and the worst part is, it's men and women of earth who woke it up purposefully. Then, we found out that Unity Group is built on illusion, if not of lies, and Loni Gavin now hold power of unknown destructive capability. Will people ever going to trust us anymore? Even I'm not sure what to trust now.

And now this..." She lifts her head from the news story. It's the daily news site of the Batavian Fleet.

"Rash of mysterious robberies. That focus on orphanages and homes of poor families... I can't believe human can be this evil. Is there no good anymore in the world? We're in the end times aren't we?

I just contacted that orphanage in the fleet. And they confirmed it. Most if not all the christmas presents donated to them are gone now. Those kids don't have many toys. The polystation I gave them, those might be the only new toy those kids will have this year. And now they're gone.

How can people be this wicked? Do nobody have heart anymore in the world?"
"I took the libery of informing ESUN - and the SSR." Suddenly there's an important announcement from Commander Howe.
"Gavin has all three seals he needs to bring the Lady back to this world. The good news is that he needs to be in the Discovery artifact to do it. It's under guard and the second anything suspicious is going on - we're moving in. The bad news is... I don't really have to tell you, do I? Efforts to track down Gavin, his allies, and his units are underway. Pray we find him before he makes his move."

"This is all."

That's all for the announcement - but the commanders are involved in another discussion behind open doors. Which means overhearing it by accident or purpose, or just outright joining in, is not difficult.

How does Loni react to the thought that his uncle, and a large part of the last few years of his life were all a lie?

"Yes! Yes, finally fucking yes! Finally, I got them all. After so much trouble, after being imprisoned by those jerks for so long, threatened, forced to lie in wait... All the seals." He's close to tears - from elation. But there's a shaking to his steps and his words, as if he could hardly believe it all.

"..."

"Now we can do it. We can make our wishes come true. Everyone will see it - I'm the Lady's chosen. I'm the hero. That's who I truly am!"

"And I have it all because of you. It's all thanks to you!"

"Dude, no. This'll be some really bad shit, I can tell. Just don't go."

"Loni, please..."

"Yeah, I know... I know you're both worried. But, I gotta get some answers, you know? This can't wait anymore. Sides, I always come back safe, right? That's what I do. And I won't be alone out there..." He recalls the voice. The voice that keeps talking to him.

Erria is gone. The artificial island was already in poor condition from SCCF's attack, but the giant pillar of fire caused by Dakova sealed its fate. All that remains of it are ruins, and thousands of casualties.

The people who somehow managed to survive this, those who worked and lived on Dotrice's island - can hardly be called lucky. Dakova exerted control over them for a long time, and now the backlash caused some of them to turn catatonic, while others flail and babble like madmen and others still wander or just sit around aimlessly, their eyes empty like they just witnessed the end of the world. And can anyone blame them?

(This is a mingle and/or reaction post. It's not Unity Group's job or specialization to offer relief in a situation like this, but what individual members do - is up to them.)
(Also backdated for Christmas)

[In case that other big Christmas giveaway was more than a tad disappointing for you, worry not!  Because other, more personalized gifts were also given away for everyone.  Some were more heartfelt, like a framed photograph of the original Glory Stars team for Setsuko o a large bag of sweets for Kei.  Others were more troll-y... like a gradient scale guide to measure if someone was wearing black or not for Roger or a pilot roster so Roy would have no excuse for not knowing people's names.  Others still blended the two together, like a Dinobot-sized copy of "The Art of War" with a bunch of blank pages and the phrase "and Grimlock" written on masking tape underneath its author's name.  After all, if you couldn't laugh on Christmas, when could you laugh?

[And the secret Santa who gave you all of these?  Well she's slumped over in the kitchen, Elma giving her yet another cup of coffee...]

Gracias Elma... couldn't have done it without you.

[This totally happened during Christmas time. Ignore the date.]

[A small Gebian spaceship, similar in shape to a gilded ancient-era vessel like all of them, arrives at Alhambra. The ship's door opens, and out comes a procession of at least dozen Gebians, most of them carrying musical instruments - very few of them look similar to anything commonly used on Earth, but all of them play music. Very loud music. Also, all of them are singing in Gebian, a choir of chittering, insectoid voices. The melody is a little bit cacophonic, but it might sound somewhat familiar to some people, even if they won't likely won't be able to put their finger on why. There's some holiday elements to it, though maybe because some of the instruments being played include bells.]

[The one leading the parade and directing it with her staff is Hetepheres. She somehow manages to stay calm and dignified despite the mayhem.]

The royal orchestra of Geb has arrived. Together with volunteers they have come to give their thanks, by playing their own arrangement of a local Earth song for all to hear. It is this time of year now. Enjoy, celebrate, and be merry.

2. *You see Grace excitedly waving a receipt.*

It's a Christmas miracle!

Remember those orphans at the Batavia Fleet? Well, I kinda worked with the caretaker of their orphanage to give each of them one of my uhm, rejected merchandise, and to some other kids the orphanage caretaker know. And you know what? Just this morning, I got news that some guy or the other heard about that, and because of that he learned that I have a huge amount of cheap non-branded consoles, and he want to buy the rest of them!

Well, I'm not stupid, and of course I thought it might be a scam or a con, but he paid it upfront as proof of his good will! I just got the transfer confirmed! He's currently transferring the goods from my rental storage in Jakarta now.

Is this... is this what's called good karma? Is this why people give things?

I... I think my heart had just grown three sizes today. If I knew about this before, I'd give more things to orphans or whatever earlier...
[In Japan, unlike most of the rest of the world, Christmas is a time for dates rather than time with the family and Kei isn't going to miss out. After spending an entire day in the kitchen, she's made a pretty impressively large table of Christmas cakes for her and Izuru to share at their first real date after getting home from the trip. The table holds a large number of her usually cakes, but in the middle of them, quite suspiciously, is a single, completely normal-looking bouche noël.]

Merry Christmas, Izuru.

The political situation of Earth is uneasy - with Cambio Protocol's influence, no longer does the planet stand as a unified front. And for Unity Group, this doubles with recent happenings, their relationship with SSR put into question.

But now few people think of it. Now is this time of the year again, the time of furious shopping, stressful crowds and annoying repetetive songs everywhere, but also a time of spending time together with important people, of making precious memories.

No matter is it Sakihama, any city close to Fort Alhambra, or any other place you may seek out. In one form or another, the holiday spirit is everywhere.

(This is a mingle post for writing what you're doing during this time. Feel free to write your own post if you want one, of course)
[Responses should probably go as a reply to the first tag. Not necessarily all in one thread though.]

Hey guys. Let's go out on a trip! Actually it's more like a visit.

But anyway! It's going to be fun. It's this time of the year, right?

[What hare-brained idea is Izuru up to now?

Anyone who dares follow in his footsteps will find themselves at a certain serene facility. Its pristine white walls and green park areas exist to evoke an aura of calmness, but burly orderlies and electrified checkpoints are never far away, and though it tries not to draw attention - security is very high.

There's one person Izuru wants to talk to here.]

Hey Leos. How are you doing?
[1]

[It is maintenance time for the Soleares again, but that's not really too important.  What is though is the Lurian  princess hanging up Christmas decorations all over the hangar.]

Well now.  I'm guessing Elma told you all about the holidays then?

Of course!  He was very informative, and I think it's just fascinating. Barely any end-of-year celebrations are observed by my people, but for Earth to have so many, between countless different cultures!

And the interactions and integration of various other beliefs to help smooth over interactions between early Christians and pagans... it's just so fascinating!

But... there is one thing that has to be addressed!  I'm guessing you all just got distracted with other things between everything but hardly anyone put up Christmas stockings!  Did you forget or just not care or think you've all been to naughty after what Brye and Rani said when they left?

How will Santa be able to give anyone presents if he doesn't have anywhere to put them!

... Wait...

You think that Santa-

He must work himself ragged every year delivering presents to everyone!  In a way he almost reminds me of our own god Augustus... at least how he's said to appear.  And I won't have possibly my only chance to experience Christmas be ruined by... by neglect of all things!

So... where do you want your stocking?

[2]

[And now it's beat-up-Elma time, with Selena making sure to not indulge in it until when Armana is clear and far away.]

You told her about Santa Claus but NOT that he doesn't exist?!?

I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sooooorrrrryyyyyy!!!!  I was going to but there was just so much she wanted to know I just... forgot!

And now she'll be expecting everyone to get Christmas presents.  The easy thing to do would be just try to break the news to her, but...

... What do you say, Elma?  Doesn't there usually have to be a helper for these sorts of things?

I don't have a choice, do I?

Not in the slightest

*Look what's landing in Unity Group hangar. It's a beat up Daughtress! And climbing out of it is the totally honest merchant, looking somewhat worse to wear.*

Hello, do you still have opening in Unity Group? Also, do you have storage for roughly three thousands off-brand handheld consoles?
[After it was known that Carina's faction was part of Cambio Protocol, it was decided that Lenore, who still held Kazan, would be at greater risk participating in the mission. She ended up not sortieing despite her insistence.

That bothers her, though not as much as what happened at the end of the mission. Since she was in the SSR before as well, Brye and Rani's departure from both groups was not welcome news...and then there was the revelation of Commander Linjun trying to discredit the UG using the two as spies, putting her in an unfavorable position by association.

It's generally not a good time to be former SSR.

Feeling rather lost, she stands before the hangar station that once held the Grungust Alpha and Huckebein Omega, looking up at the empty space where the machines would have been.]

We didn't know each other that well. But, we fought together even before the Unity Group. I...I don't think that you're bad people at all. Although...

...

I don't understand. Does changing this world your own way really mean that much...?
So... That happened.

Yes, I might need to do a couple more checks, but from my diagnostic so far the virus had been completely purged. I might add a couple of additional security measures, but I doubt we'll need it. I think Hikari was right. This is exactly why My Grandfather installed a neural link on you, Bahamut.  Or at least one of them anyway. To prevent enemies from hijacking you. Hikari said that she felt a deeper connection to you and you two could easily purge any other attempt of electronic hijacking right? I won't pretend that I understand how does that work, but I believe her.

I believe it's similar about finding out how to control a previously dormant muscle in human body, Mr. Matsuyama. Once you moved it, you know how it feels, and you can do it consistently.

We won, but I'm concerned about the latest commander they sent. A sentient cloud of nanobot that hijack machines? This is the first time we're facing something like that. We need to rethink what we know about their strategies and capabilities. And we're still not any clearer about their motivation or where do they came from. I hope Katsuhiko Ishida's expedition would yield fruit.

Who cares!
The important thing is we won! No matter what kind of new beast they'll throw to us, I know we can win! Because we have something that can beat any adversary. The bond of friendship.

Also 600mm Hellbore Plasma Cannon, but mostly bond of friendship.

It's interesting to see the progress of mankind's view about robotic from early age. We should watch Robocop next.

Stuff under Cut )
The One Who Waits is not going to be an easy fight. So, Jen's practicing, with a rather odd setup. At one end of a small field is a baseball pitching machine; at the other, Jen stands ready with a naginata.

"Alright. Calm breaths...still heart...some other buddhist thing. Let's do this.'

Jen raises the polearm above her head, and hits a start button. The 95-mph fastball that shoots towards her is met with a blinding overhead strike, and splits in two. They've still got enough momentum to carry forward on either side of Jen, and she hasn't even completed her first strike.

When her foot touches the ground, it's with a slight twist. She needs to turn around to hit the pieces of the baseball again, and Jen has started her movement to do so too early. At the speeds she is moving, an imperfect landing means her ankle is strained far past its breaking point-and Jen's finish is far from perfect. She twists her ankle and crashes to the ground. All of it is over in a fraction of a second.

For anyone not accustomed to watching kung fu action movies, or people who just blinked at the wrong time, they miss the in-between action. Jen is holding a polearm over her head at one point, and rolling on the ground swearing loudly in three languages the next.

I just wanted to personally say goodbye and check up on you instead of simply vanishing from the hospital. I'll try to stay in touch, even if military schedules and time zones might cause issues at times.

"Captain Vadim agreed for Grungust Alpha and Huckebein Omega to return with us. She's being reasonable about what boils down to theft of a seal entrusted to SSR."

The acting commanders of Unity Group are having a meeting. Technically it's for higher ups only - but it's not behind locked doors, and anyone can just come and listen or even join in. This is no time for protocols.

"If by entrusted you mean they used it as a source of energy. That sounds perfectly responsible... and now the seal's somewhere inside the two units. It's the most mysterious blackbox the boys at engineering have ever seen." Dirchs quickly moves through several sheets of data on his pad.
"A black box that allowed the two to combine, which is funny because the mechanism for combination was already there. Just incomplete, locked down. And no one knew about it."

"..."
"..."

"Why is everyone looking at me? I didn't know of the combination mechanism either. I'm honest this time, sorry to disappoint you! Perhaps you should focus your attention on the one who delivered the Alpha and Omega to Unity Group, hmm?"

Unfortunately questioning the person responsible (can you remember who it was?) will have to wait, because...

[2]

"There is little time to act."

Unity Group has prisoners - Lagardia and Graeme, the two last Ancients, now in human form and the latter wounded and given medical attention. They are prisoners, but they came out of their own free will, and asked Unity Group for assistance.

"The One Who Waits is not yet invincible - yet. I know where the Gate of Sorrows is, and with keys on hand we can unlock it. Unlock it, and kill that monster once and for all. Except... there is only two of us remaining. We can't do it alone, so we decided to entrust the fate of the world in your hands."

"I'm afraid I can't assist you, Lagardia. My injuries... ugh. They are too severe."

"Then I will go by myself, but not alone - with Unity Group. Maybe I grew too stubborn in trying to do this on my own... one more thing."

"I realize of things I have done. My actions resulted in deaths of many innocents, for that I have no excuse. If you wish to punish or put me on trial, do it - but do it after the monster is dead. Slaying the One Who Waits is our priority now!"

Wow, what was that? I didn't know it could do that! Why didn't anyone tell me?

[Brye is looking over the smoking battered hulls of the Huckebein and Grungust duo. The duo returned from SSR headquarters, even though the seal SSR housed is no longer there - it's in the units now. Somehow.]

I'm terrified, but also excited! Can a human person have so much adrenaline in her system and still live? Is something terrible going to happen now?

[2]
So, that was the "Loni", huh...

[A fair bit later Bryanne is still alive, but instead she's more thoughtful and pondering loudly.]

I knew he was a jerk but now it looks like he's not all right in the head too. But the scary thing is, I think he got one thing right. In very, very general terms.

This world needs to change. Look what happened with SSR and the Cambio thingy. Look what happens to people all the time. This isn't right, this needs to change.

I just don't think Loni's the one who should do it.
[Some time after doing his best to assist with matters involving the Horseman of Conquest - Ett and Samantha Barton, Calvin had left discreetly to handle matters. Now just arriving back, Calvin keeps a close hold on his coat. Interestingly he had a few bandages on him, though he didn't seem to be troubled at all as he moved.]

Sorry for the disappearing act... I needed to get a lot of things sorted out.

[He seems a little anxious as he looks over his shoulder.]

I miss anything?

The evening after Halloween, while a spooky atmosphere still fills the air, Dido Sybil invites her friends, allies and workmates to a campfire cookoff in the little forest by Saikhama base.

Together, the party builds a merrily crackling fire in a stone-ringed pit. Hot Dogs and Marshmallows are toasted on sticks and harmonicas are played.

As the sun recedes behind the trees, and shadows gather around the flickering campfire, Dido pulls out a flashlight and shines its beam under her chin.

"Gather round, gather round," she proclaims in a gravely voice. "Don't stray from the light, for we're going tell spooky stories tonight–!"

In a more cheerful voice, she continues: "So who wants to go first?"

[2]

Eventually, it's Dido's turn. "As bizarre as it sounds," she says, "this is a true story."

Dido clears her throat. "When I was a child, I lived in a skyscraper, a mansion of glass and steel run by my mother. Back then, mom was always flying off to business meetings in the Sprawl or working late hours in the office, so I spent a lot of time alone. Whenever I got restless, I'd explore the skyscraper, wandering up and down stairs, poking my head into various rooms, riding up and down the dumbwaiters. The skyscraper was huge, and I rarely ever ran into anyone."

Dido pauses for effect. "One night, I was walking down a hallway...and realized I was being followed by a blue ball..."

[Tell your own spooky campfire tale here! It can be a classic spine-tingler featuring psychopaths who leave hooks dangling on car doors, or something from your character's childhood or unique folklore tradition?]
... So.  On one hand we have a bunch of rather overt megalomaniacs, on another you have a bunch of liars and psychos with a raging misogynist in their ranks, on another you have remnants of a group fighting long after their leader wanted them to stop, a Decepticon, and a woman who cloned a dog girl.

I don't want to make light of what happened out there.  They played us like a fiddle and Captain Linjun, stuckup that he is, paid deep to get us out of there.  Might've even paid with his life.

But... if they wanted an anti-SSR or anti-Unity Group... they're probably more than overqualified for the anti-unity bit.  We've given them all bloody noses before, and taken down threats bigger than any of them.  They're not making this alliance up because they feel loyal or trust everyone else in it, maybe not even like each other, but they joined up because Miss Bernal made that big speech and they can't go it alone.  That VIPER lady even said something to that extent too.

And you know, maybe I'm wrong...

But call it a women's intuition.
[1]
Ha! Hyaah!

[After dealing a lethal blow to a practice dummy, Sielje puts down her weapon. The knight is sweaty but for once, seems content. And the weapon in question is not her usual sword, but a long rod. A practice spear.]

Yes, I did not forget. I still have the arm for this.

[2]
Ahem. Do not misunderstand, it is not my intent to request my work done for me.

But there must be a better way to do this.

[Sielje is covered in paint, a large brush in her hand. In the background, her handiwork - a beginning of some kind of shape forming on a large mobile suit shield. A shape painted by hand, as half-empty cans littering underneath betray.]

I know there is a device of sorts for this kind of... purpose. But I know not how to operate it, and...

[She glances at the mess, embarassed.]
[It went without saying that the moment the pair got back to Sakihama after the debacle in Malaysia, Volya and Interitus were completely wiped from the battle physically and emotionally. Both were curled up on a sofa, the former still feeling the phantom pains of the latter who looked battered, bruised and burned. And to top it all off...]

Uuugh...

[Volya promptly let out several coughs, hacking up something unpleasant into a tissue and tossing it into a pile before weakly groping close by for a bottle of water.]

"Told Volya should have worn mask."

[The Haze has claimed yet another victim.]

[1]
[Late at night, Sakihama Base's residential area is peaceful and quiet. Suddenly - bumping noises. Something thumps in the dark, followed by shuffles, as if a heavy object was being dragged on the floor. The source of the noise can't be far away... sounds of cutting, movement, and when you get close - fluids squirting, guide you towards a room.

A room where, as soon as the door is opened, the corridor's light illuminates horrible, orange organic mess on a table.]

Hey there!

[And here's a killer with a knife!]

[2]
[Izuru tumbles another (badly) carved pumpkin on its place, but he doesn't seem entirely happy with it. An idea is already brewing inside his head...]

Man, so much crazy stuff happened that it actually takes the edge off this holiday... I wonder, are there any haunted houses around? I mean real ones. We should totally visit one.

[The party is back from the Kagura-led expedition into the final PRAYER stronghold and the battle with GARLAND - damaged, but without any casualties. And with a little extra nobody expected. Four pods containing dead children, that waited at the deepest end of GARLAND... and a cat. A large white cat, sitting like a guardian over one of the coffins. A large white cat that GARLAND wanted to give someone because it was a "lost item". Yes, that sortie got strange towards the end.

To nobody's surprise, the cat seems to take the primary attention of the mechanics, with cries of "it's so cute" and "who's a big kitty" and "such pretty amber eyes" (which are met with an orange basilisk gaze by a cat that lets herself be petted but looks rather wary)... until the coffins are opened and people fall silent. Dead children have a rather sobering effect.

So Kagura comes out of the Apostle and whips the crews into action, getting them out of those coffins and getting preparations for a proper burial started right now. While she doesn't have actual command anymore, someone with a clear shouting voice and certainty of what needs to be done can get a lot done before anyone remembers that fact. If anyone wants to get some answers out of her, as it were, this seems the best moment. Approach?]

2
[A little later, after all tasks have been delegated, if you pass through a certain corridor, you'll probably be able to see the blue-green glow of Kagura coming out from an office. And inside, Kagura can be found looking out a window into the rain, with a few reference materials scattered about and a computer turned on. She feels, somehow, more at rest than usual. Like someone who has finished something big - but there's also a hint of indecision there that is not common to find in the Mistletoe. Kagura generally has known what to do, if not always, as recent troubles attest, how she could actually do it. But now she has no idea.

Suddenly she speaks, not turning around.]

Well? Don't just stand there. If you're going to come in, do.

[And in the meantime, the white cat, newly nicknamed Amber by the mechanic crews, is stalkingaround the base. So at some point you thought you were alone (be it in your room, office, mess hall, what have you) you will feel a penetrating stare on you - and you'll find Amber sitting upright in a less-lit corner of the room, tail waving very slowly. Sitting there, practically glowing amber eyes in the dark, Amber looks like the princess of all cats. Certainly makes one wonder whether the Egyptians had a point when they considered cats to be linked with the spirit realm.]

What is this place?

[And then she speaks. Because of course she does. Archie and Skald will probably be happy. And she's asking something of you.]
[1] - The Feeling Of Having Dodged A Bullet (right after mission)
After the battle at Sakihama, a new unit is dragged into the base-the black-and orange Nemain, a spiky 10 meter thing and the unit Jen was piloting. It now has a giant metal stake through its chest and cockpit, the back of which is covered in blood. It doesn't respond to being dragged around, but automatically starts to devour the area around it-so it's been left outside of the hangar. It is repairing itself-after a few minutes, the stake is devoured by its nanobots, and it starts to resume its original shape.  Getting into the cockpit to help treat Jen isn't happening-the nanobot cloud knocks backwards anyone who gets too close.

It's when more drastic measures involving the use of superpowers and weaponry start to be discussed that its cockpit opens. Jen comes out on a liftwire to the ground-covered in blood, her clothes torn to shreds, and holding a briefcase. She touches down on the ground barefoot, stumbles, and falls flat on her ass.

"Jesus christ...it worked."

[2] - Reconcilliation

[Later, Jen can be found in a calmer common area. By now, word may have gotten around that her betrayal was all an elaborate ploy-or it might not have. Either way, she's drinking some tea in her usual clothes, as though nothing had happened at all.]
