[In Japan, unlike most of the rest of the world, Christmas is a time for dates rather than time with the family and Kei isn't going to miss out. After spending an entire day in the kitchen, she's made a pretty impressively large table of Christmas cakes for her and Izuru to share at their first real date after getting home from the trip. The table holds a large number of her usually cakes, but in the middle of them, quite suspiciously, is a single, completely normal-looking bouche noël.]
Merry Christmas, Izuru.
Merry Christmas, Izuru.

[Izuru is not sure if he can eat even one. It's Kei's cooking they're talking about after all.]
You worked really hard alright.

Which one do you want to try?

[Izuru concentrates and scans the table for a most normal-looking cake. And no, the wooden log one doesn't count.]
This one.

[She cuts him a big slice, before starting on her own.]
I wonder how everyone else spends their Christmas.

Yeah...
It's only the second one with UG, right? But it feels like it's been a long time.

[Despite talking, she manages to consume her cake at a rapid pace. Somehow without talking with her mouth full.]
It's just so different from the academy.

But it feels like we became a real team only here. I wonder why's that! Is it because the threat of Wulgaru and others brought us together?
[Izuru chomps down on a small part of the cake. A possible big mistake!]

Your cakes are as sweet as ever.
[Somehow Izuru manages to maintain a straight face and not suffer from a heart attack.]

[Izuru looks at the cake in question.]
Ahh, it's made from chocolate? I didn't know.

[In order to avoid the question, Izuru quickly cuts off and eats a slice of the wood log.]
...
Wow, it's really good!

Merry Christmas! [Whatever she was thinking in that pause, you're not gonna hear it, Izuru.]

[Izuru sounds unsure.]

[She sits quietly for a bit, uncertain of how to proceed from there before falling back on the obvious. She reaches down to pick up a box wrapped in colorful paper and slide it across the table.]
I got something for you. Merry Christmas.

[Izuru picks up the box, still in shock. Presents on Christmas, who'd expect that?]

...You can open it and see.

[Sound a little embarassed for some reason, Izuru pries the gift open.]

[Izuru stares at the robot, then rotates the box around to read what's written on every side. Somehow he manages not to drop the lid while doing so.]
It's great! Time to start putting it together, right away.
Okay, maybe not like, right now, but...

Say, Kei...

It's not as awesome as what you gave me, but... well. I made it myself.
[Izuru produces a folded sheet of paper. Folded multiple times in fact.]
It's a poster.

[With some hesitation, Izuru unfolds his handmade poster.
It shows the five AHSMB units. No, not just that - around them are other machines, those that their friends use. Even Team Doberman is there. And below the units themselves, super deformed versions of their pilots.
Purple Two and Kei take center stage in both. Even with Izuru's usual artstyle, it's obvious someone put a lot of effort into it.]
You see, you're always supporting everyone Kei. So it's like, you're the core of it all. I don't mean just missions. But, umm, how to put it. As a group of friends, maybe?

I never thought about it that way.
