So what are we going to do about that guy's idea of taking charge of the two primary crisis response teams of Earth? Whatever we're going to do, a unified response from all of Unity Group would probably be more persuasive than just running around and sending in whatever we each think is a sensible response.

[Kei just recently received a pretty big, heavy envelope. It's carrying a simplified logo of Harvard University and anybody used to trying to read her expressions can readily see that she's practically bursting with excitement. Even without having opened it, she's making the way to the kitchen closest to her room to grab a slice of cake to celebrate getting it.]

I was thinking of arguing long and hard that he be removed from command, and Viletta Vadim be put in charge. She actually seems capable, you know?

Failing in that, murder's suddenly a very tempting option.

Or somebody else if not her. I think he's right that we'll be more effective with more coordination between our groups, at least...Just under the command of somebody actually competent and capable of maintain morale.

Well, he's officially ticked me off, so I'll be looking over his background. Might get Edwards to help too. I don't think we'll have any trouble finding a history of being a piece of shit.

...Failing in that, I do think he's going to self-destruct. The problem would be not getting killed by him first.

I'd prefer not to risk my life just to prove his incompetence.

But digging something up and presenting more qualified alternatives should be plenty. I can't imagine anybody would want to defend him.

Yeah...And we didn't have supplies to last for very long either.

They wouldn't be very long, though...Even if Commander Lee wasn't planning on blowing up the Discovery, there were no supplies there.

Maybe we could find a machine that makes some kind of supplies. The inspector lived a long time inside the Discovery, right?

I think he was in cryogenic stasis, suspended animation or similar, not just hanging out in there.

...I was really happy when I saw you in there. That I was alone. But...I was also scared. I didn't want you to die of thirst or starvation in there.

I knew that the Commander never liked the Unity Group. But this is a little much...even for him.

He probably thinks it's some great act of heroism and that being a jerk makes him the hero.

I don't have a problem with merging our groups, just not under his leadership.

If the two groups are to come together, he's not the one who should lead it. But, I still feel indebted to him for accepting me when I was in need.

So he does have his good sides. And he does have a point that dealing with this crisis would probably be simpler with a single, unified organization.

...Maybe...you could try to make him see that he's the one coming between the two groups.

I know that I can't speak for everyone, but I don't think the other members of the SSR would act like him. And...I'd really like to see all of us working together.

He doesn't seem to understand the concept of humility. But we could try to put some other name forward. Captain Vadim or an officer who has distinguished themselves in a recent battle.

It's the most prestigious medical school in the world and my education has been pretty unusual and inconsistent...And I'm still serving in the military and the exact circumstances of when and how I'll be discharged are unclear.

Yeah. We've had active military duty with minimal breaks for two years now, so hopefully it won't be too much longer.
