So what are we going to do about that guy's idea of taking charge of the two primary crisis response teams of Earth? Whatever we're going to do, a unified response from all of Unity Group would probably be more persuasive than just running around and sending in whatever we each think is a sensible response.

[Kei just recently received a pretty big, heavy envelope. It's carrying a simplified logo of Harvard University and anybody used to trying to read her expressions can readily see that she's practically bursting with excitement. Even without having opened it, she's making the way to the kitchen closest to her room to grab a slice of cake to celebrate getting it.]

[In the evening, Kei knocks on the door to her recent boyfriend's room.]

Can we talk for a bit? ...It's about being stuck on the Discovery together like that.

They wouldn't be very long, though...Even if Commander Lee wasn't planning on blowing up the Discovery, there were no supplies there.

Maybe we could find a machine that makes some kind of supplies. The inspector lived a long time inside the Discovery, right?

I think he was in cryogenic stasis, suspended animation or similar, not just hanging out in there.

...I was really happy when I saw you in there. That I was alone. But...I was also scared. I didn't want you to die of thirst or starvation in there.

I just had to come help. You know I had to.

But Kei - you'd face the same thirst or starvation too. You weren't afraid of that?

Of course...But I didn't want you to suffer it as well...

I was sure... well, mostly sure, we'd find a way out somehow. That's not how the Lady does things, she wants to tell hero stories right? And I know my hero stories. They're my kind of thing.

But, thanks Kei. You're always concerned with everyone's safety, with my safety. It's your kind of thing.

I guess...I didn't think of it like that. [Not like they were heroes in the story the Lady had told anyway.]

Even if we're "bad guys" for her, she won't just let the bad guys starve to death when the hero isn't even there. That's super anti climactic.

If she had that power, at least. And still consider us Loni's villains, rather than people who have played our role.

[herodrawing]

Yeah, I guess that's a lot of ifs.

But, no use worrying about it anymore. We're all out, and safe. That's all that matters, right?

Right. Everyone is safe now.

But you know...

[Izuru coughs quietly.]

I say that now, but I was worried too.

[Kei relaxes a bit more at that, meeting Izuru's statement with a nod and a small smile.]

Yeah...So it's good we're out.

Yeah. No doubt about it! So let's go on a road trip or something to celebrate it.

...Remember what happened last time we went on one. Next trip we'll book things in advance.

Oh yeah, that's right...

Still, it was an adventure at least, right? The hotel owners weren't even that angry about the grill.

I guess that's true...But spending that day walking into nowhere was still kind of a waste.

We spent it together, at least.

Right. And we did it without anybody breathing down our necks.
