The weirdest of dreams

Wuaaaaagh!

[Dreams can sometimes feel very, very real.  And when it involves spooky or creepy circumstances that actually might be pretty realistic considering your current lot in life, that can make it even worse.  The nghtmare Ana just went through is one of those, and in the midst of waking up and flailing-]

THUMP.

[... Gravity took its toll when she wound up on the edge of the bed.]

... For that matter, don't tell me.  Is it November ye-

[One glance at the calender clears that up.  Only the 24th... though it hasn't exactly been a great month though for other people...]

[Later that day Ana's actually looking over the memorials and reminders of those in or allies of the Unity Group whose luck ran out.  Even the Breaker theft incident has some stuff set up too...]

... Just seems kinda childish now that I'm actually thinking about it..

[Out from her pockets comes a little black book, one she flips through briefly before closing it with a frown and a sigh.]

Just an excuse to get drunk off my ass and think it was justified.

Definitely not. I'd paint to unwind, but I'm worried I might end up making something that reminds me of that artist lady's works... and more creepiness is the last thing I want right now.

There's a lot of people who paint or draw in Unity Group. Almost like it's an artistic organization instead of a peacekeeping one.

Did something creepy happen recently?

Not really... it's just I had a really messed up dream and I don't want to deal with anything that mind remind me of it.

Fortunately no... guess I lucked out.

... What was she like? The lady who made that painting Walt got, I mean?

She was a nice old lady who was friendly towards everyone. And happened to paint really weird images.

But you also got the feeling she knows something she's not telling you. And she wasn't afraid of dying, at all.

I can... sorta see how that fits together.

Test piloting can be dangerous after all... and the last thing researchers want is someone too jittery over the possibility of biting it.

N-not that I know of! I was just...

I was just meaning that it might seem weird that someone would still have secrets they didn't want to tell or things they want to see finished, but was prepared to die. But I could understand someone doing that, since I've met and worked with people like that.

I think there's someone who might know more about the old lady than us... But she won't tell anyone.
