Wuaaaaagh!
[Dreams can sometimes feel very, very real. And when it involves spooky or creepy circumstances that actually might be pretty realistic considering your current lot in life, that can make it even worse. The nghtmare Ana just went through is one of those, and in the midst of waking up and flailing-]

[... Gravity took its toll when she wound up on the edge of the bed.]

[One glance at the calender clears that up. Only the 24th... though it hasn't exactly been a great month though for other people...]
... Just seems kinda childish now that I'm actually thinking about it..
[Out from her pockets comes a little black book, one she flips through briefly before closing it with a frown and a sigh.]
Just an excuse to get drunk off my ass and think it was justified.

Novembers have been really unlucky for me for a long time. When I got old enough I made it a thing to keep track of bad moments in here though, and then go out drinking on the 30th and do a shot for all of them. Like a way of going "glad that's all over with" and all...
Just seems selfish and short-sighted now though.

Like you said, everyone has burdens and times things take a turn for the worse. But I don't need to arbitrarily try to keep stock of everything bad that happens to me in one month, even down to-
[It's not hard for her to find a rather petty incident she wrote down.]

I was just meaning that it might seem weird that someone would still have secrets they didn't want to tell or things they want to see finished, but was prepared to die. But I could understand someone doing that, since I've met and worked with people like that.

I'm not an alocholic. It's just for a long time, I've always seemed to have ridiculously bad luck in everything come November, including the loss of my right hand.
I just made it a tradition to do shots at the end of the month as a response, though as a matter of fact I was already thinking about quitting.

I would advise trying to push it from your mind and change your expectations. The idea of a self-fulfilling prophecy is a surprisingly potent psychological phenomenon and sabotaging yourself is foolish in this position.
I do not believe I've heard the full story of the loss of your hand though and the qualities of your prosthetic replacement.
