Post-mission post! (#1 and 2 locked to participants of 'Gathering of the Wanderers')

1. [The safe harbor that Shu was referring to is a cave some distance away from the battle zone. There's ample space for everyone to store their machines, and necessities such as food and water are all available.

As you're getting accustomed to the layout however, a particular bird/familiar approaches you.]

So since Master isn't really himself right now, I owe you guys some explanations!

The most likely reason you've been brought to La Gias is a large-scale summoning spell. I've got no clue who the caster is, or why they did it, though.

If you've got any other questions, I can try to answer them.

[She does look a BIT more serious when it comes to the next part, however.]

...By the way, I noticed some of you recognize Master from before. Just letting you know that reminding him of the past all at once right now would be a baaad idea. That goes especially for some of you.

2. [It's not long afterwards that Shu can be found next to a VERY familiar looking device in one section of the cave. Those of you who have been with the Unity Group before would recognize this as a TSEN Device, but Shu looks confounded by its presence there...]

[The combatants from the mission have returned! But since then, you might have gotten a glimpse of one of the new people who returned with them, or for something more obvious: that mecha in the hangar. Chika's advice about those memories of his has also spread one way or another, but it's not like you'd run into him a lot anyway.

Said person is regularly found in the records' rooms of the bases (or something equivalent like a library); suspiciously going through a small number of both written and digital documents. They're not top secret stuff, so he's not breaking any rules, but still...]

((OOC: Yes, this still takes place in La Gias for prompts 1 and 2, and is the explanation as to why everyone can go home so quickly. This way we won't get multiple posts of 'what now?'. Plus, this means our newly introduced player can go ahead and frontdate to after this event if he wants to make his own post.

[The bird raises one of its wings. Feather pointed up, not too different from a person with an index finger.]
That you're either a terrible excuse for a saboteur, a goofy member of the maintenance crew, or someone who climbs other people's machines for fun without asking for permission!

By the way, the switch for the ladder was down there.

If you were really just curious, all you had to do was ask! Something stupid like this makes you look more suspicious than Master.

Kukuku. Well, it's not all that bad. With someone like you around, being just a bird seems pretty good.

[Ken somewhat imagined he might not get a straight answer if he asked... but then, it wasn't like he'd actually considered it to begin with. He wanted a look, so he was taking a look.]

[Finally bringing himself to where he imagines the cockpit would roughly be, he tries to find some inside.]

[There is probably a hatch there, in fact you're pretty sure there is. But there's no way someone unauthorized would be allowed in so easily. It's pretty much sealed, and no one other than Shu himself can open it.

This is also why Chika isn't very worried at all.]

[That said... Ken does sit himself down instead of progressing further. Its clear that the machine ie pretty well sealed, and if anything he's heard is true, a trap would not be unlikely. So then how to get in...?]

Of course! The world needs monkeys like you to make me look better as a bird. It makes me feel better when people don't get my status right the first time.

[After dancing a bit up on her perch, the bird ponders the question.]

...As far as I remember, yeah. He did need help getting it fixed one time, though.

An unknown - to me - machine piloted by a man whose name is uttered with hush tones.

[Ken glances at the bird.]

So I come back and see it. Why not take a look?

Well, you've got your look. Give up on anything more than that unless you've got nothing to live for though.

And speak of the devil...what took you so long, Master?

[Without warning, the bird hops off and descends, but not in Ken's direction...

It lands on the shoulder of a man wearing a white long coat, who curiously looks up at where Ken is.]

...Depends. Though I suspect your bird wouldn't like it at this point.

I won't ask twice.

And it appears neither would you.

[Ken gets up, and then easily enough leaps to a nearby catwalk.]

I just wanted a look, that's all.

[All said and done, this is the Granzon we're talking about. Shu has every reason to suspect you just from your conduct, Ken.]

The proper way to achieve that is to ask first, then act.


That's what I told him, too; but he went on like the entire thing was his anyway!

[Ken simply puts his hands in his pockets, and walks away.]

[Even if you can't see it, Chika waves at you.]

Well, he sure could climb at least.


[The Professor just sighs.]

Dial back the discharge level of the anti-intrusion systems by two while we're here. By the looks of it, he should at least be able to survive the fall if he tries it again.


But Master, won't that still hurt?


It should be enough to serve as a warning for someone of his physique.
