[Due to an increasing number of mixed operations (and in part to satisfy general pilot curiosity) the TSF detachment has scheduled a training event for other UG personnel to familiarize themselves with TSF piloting at their own pace. Unable to provide the full simulator support onsite at a UG location the event is scheduled to take place at the Yokohama training base.

The day is split between use of the simulators in the morning to instill the basics and more advanced maneuvers in the Fubuki training TSFs using a modified dual seat cockpit allowing members of the Argos flight to take control in case of emergency.]

[Tarisa is suited up in her TSF suit minus the HUD interface waiting for Raquel to meet for the arranged spar the two had decided upon after discussing her last run in with the Shura. Looking up as the door opens the look of excitement and anticipation on her face is obvious.]

Certainly took long enough for our schedules to match up for this, wouldn't you agree?

[The usual suspect for shenanigans is here. Izuru also dragged his whole team along - or rather parts of it that did not protest too violently.]

[Sighing inwardly Yuuya greets team rabbits as they approach, taking particular focus on Izuru.]

Alright, looks like you've suited up well enough with the Lieutenants and I'm assuming they gave you the basic safety briefing about not trying anything too crazy before you get used to piloting. It's going to be pretty different from your regular units but go ahead and step up. We'll start you on the basic movement course but don't try anything fancy with the boosters until you've had a chance to see how the auto-balancer reacts to landings.

Do you people really pilot in those suits all the time? It feels... distracting.

Yeah, I know how to do the basics now. This'll be fun! I even put on my own suit, see?

[Thumbs up to Asagi.]

[Izuru gets a brief, irritated look at that gesture. Safely from behind his back.]

Why would anybody ever design something like these?

Oh, you didn't know? It's only training suits that look like this, to make it easier to see and diagnose injuries and such. Yuuya told me earlier.

[Izuru turns around.]

I'm glad you came too, Kei!

Izuru! Kei! Asagi! You guys are training too?

[And joining the rabbits in the training exercise was Leos, also in a Trainee Fortified Suit.]

I don't need such comments from guys, Izuru.

[Asagi turns towards Leos.]

And why are you here?

[Rather than respond to any of them, Kei quickly moved towards the safety of a cockpit where nobody could see her.]

[Re-entering the room from programming the simulators Yuuya looks at the assembled rabbits plus Leos and claps his hands to get their attention.]

Alright, that's about enough of that for now everyone. Izuru was correct as to why the coating is more translucent but the suit itself is designed to protect you from the G-Forces of piloting a TSF since they tend to be a lot more abrupt in directional changes then most other units.

Everyone into the simulators and we'll get started. The first thing that will happen is an abbreviated adjustment process where you'll experience some of the common TSF maneuvers as closely as we can replicate them just to confirm there's no motion sensitivity issues and then we'll swap over to the movement training.

[True to his word after you are all secured into the simulator cockpits they begin to follow a programmed course of running, abrupt turns and boost, and even a few simulated leaps and landings. The movement is a bit rougher than you've experienced in other suits and once the program is complete the HUD projectors on your headpiece project an urban environment with a series of way points and a set of instructions on what order and how to approach each point beginning with running and continuing on through boosting, jumping, and finally NoE flight to the most distant way point.]

Alright looks like everything is good from the monitors, anyone feeling off before we move ahead with the training? If not then go ahead and try running, basic controls for movement are thought controlled while the sticks control weapon systems.

[Izuru's virtual TSF is looking around excitedly.]

Piloting AHSMB is more natural, this has more controls... oof!

[Watch out where you're going, you might run into something. The terrain for example.]

Its not that different from an AC- GAH!

[Leos was wrong on that actually. TSFs are built more for speed than most regular AC designs. It was a bit quicker than he would have expected and he had yet to compensate for it.]

[Watching the simulated feeds from the monitors Yuuya comes over the comm to Izuru and Leos.]

I'm glad you're enjoying it guys but take it a bit easier would you? There's still plenty of time to get the basics down and if you break the simulators we'll have no end of hell to pay from Dr. Kouzuki and after her little display in the training exercise I'm not certain how safe any of us would be after that.

Dr Kouzuki, you mean the scientist lady is somewhere here?

She's scary...

[An image springs up in Izuru's mind.]

No, she's just untrustworthy and manipulative.

She reminds me of Dr. Shirakawa like that.

I'd rather avoid dealing with her any more than I have to.

[Well, seems Asagi is doing somewhat better than the two derps. Probably because he actually bothers to actually follow the instructions.]

Are those simulators really that easy to break?

[Like Asagi, Kei seems to be doing pretty well. A lack of adventurousness in what she's trying might be part of that, though.]

It seems like a pretty bad idea. Simulators are supposed to be there to allow people to screw up without consequence.

[Yuuya cuts Izuru and Leos from the comm line to spare their feelings from the next statement.]

The sims are breakable but it's not easy to do. Given the rather spectacular performance Leos has shown with mecha destruction in the past and Izuru's special nature I figured if anyone could use the warning it was them.

They've both improved a lot though so it's really more over-cautionary and a broken sim usually isn't a big deal in most bases but I did hear that the not-so-good doctor has a pretty specific interest in this base and it's facilities. I'd rather be safe than sorry in that case.

[At the same time, Izuru tries to execute the famous spin-and-shoot maneuver. Only without the shooting.]

[Kei responds to Yuuya over the private line as well.]

Leos, I can understand, but Izuru isn't that useless. He's performed well in battles until now.

[ugyuuya]

Typically yes I'd agree with that but he can get a little, enthusiastic, at times and it seems like he and Leos tend to feed off of each other when it comes down to it. They have both improved so really was just a bug in their ear to keep caution in mind.

[Yuuya returns to the normal channel.]

Alright seems like aside from a few mistakes at the start you guys are starting to get the basic movements down and even a few of the tricks for simple ground based boost techniques. You guys ready to test some boost jumps on that section of the course?

That fits Leos, but Izuru has never acted like an idiot in battle and he does have four years of military academy experience.

[Izuru is doing, fittingly enough, small rabbit hops with his TSF. Someone's being really careful with the boost there.]

Nothing, just getting used to piloting the TSF. [And true to her word, she returned to focusing her attention on proper, controlled and somewhat conservative use of the simulator. At least she seemed to be getting the hang of it.]

People are quiet when they focus on something. Like piloting.

[After he got used to the controls Asagi's recklessness kicks in, and he starts doing long jumps and complex maneuvers. Hopefully nothing gets in his way!]
