Recent developments with the Lady and the Discovery prompted some to mention a particular Kijin organization as a potential source of artifacts.
Because of this, those who are interested may participate in a hastily organized visit to the once grand estate that was the headquarters of the Gloster Foundation. There are things to be discussed.
After the events almost a year ago, the place is definitely not what it once was: buildings are still damaged, and while some are being rebuilt, others have been abandoned. The giant, lavish manor that was the administrative building, where Seta's coming of age ceremony was held, is one of the latter.
A gloomy atmosphere looms over the area, complete with a sky laden with overcast.
Among those who decided to come, one person is a special case: a certain horned girl, who received a personal invitation from the new leaders of the Foundation...
-

"...So this is where she lived."
After accepting the invite reluctantly, Lenore is naturally anxious about what she'll find. She has no idea what to expect or what she was invited for.
Her caution may be warranted though: as she continues to look around, the sound of many footsteps approaches her out of nowhere!

"-Eh?"
And that's all that she manages to say before she's abruptly tackled to the ground by a familiar group of young Kijin, who proceed to pull her horns and tail.
"...Look! We found the new girl!"
"Wait a minute... she's supposed to be smaller than us! This ain't fair!"
"Hey, tell us! How'd you grow up so fast?"
...Unfortunately, Lenore can't answer that due to being unable to breathe under all that weight.

"H-help..."
-

Some time later, you may stumble upon Lenore again. This time she is not alone, and appears to be speaking to someone in a lounge area of one of the rebuilt buildings.

"...What do you mean?! I have it with me even now, and it's been fine!"
The person in the seat across from hers looks like a younger Kijin, but her demeanor suggests otherwise.

"I mean exactly what I've said, Lenore. We've let it go before, but under the current circumstances, and with this 'Lady' awakening and adding to the world's troubles, we can't let you keep an artifact like Kazan any longer. Astara insisted that we wait until you realized this yourself, or prove us wrong by showing your capability. However, we've put the subject to a vote a few days ago, and decided that this is the best course of action...
"Please understand: Carina is also our responsibility. As long as you continue to carry Kazan into battle, you're a complete component for her plans, waiting for her to get a hold of you. Even with others around you, you can't continue depend on-"
Lenore suddenly gets up from her seat. Her clenched fist shows her struggle to keep her anger in check.

"I've heard enough. I'm leaving!"

After Lenore's meeting with the Foundation administrator, a small crowd has gathered at an open clearing outside: they are witnesses to a battle that is now happening.
On one side is Lenore, carrying both Kazan and her own large blade.
Her opponent: the administrator Circe, has no such weapon drawn, and has only been defending herself.
Yet, Lenore is losing the exchanges - getting thrown and smacked around like a pinball. Her most recent attempt sees her being knocked away and eating dirt from an elbow to her gut. It isn't even much of a fight.

"Grrh!"

"I'll admit that you're better than the reports stated. But this has gone far enough, don't you think?"

"...I'm not even done yet. You'd better start taking me seriously."

"Very well. Let's see what happens when I'm the one attacking then."
Circe seems to blink in and out of existence, instantly appearing within striking range. Lenore immediately moves to slash...

"That's fast. But don't think it'll be so-"
And hits nothing but air.

"...Easy...?"
Feeling a presence behind her, she turns around as quickly as possible. But by that time, there's a fist headed right for her face: a fist that stops only an inch away from contact.
"...?!"
Even after it stops, a tremendous blast of air spreads out into the surroundings. Lenore is not hurt by it, but she takes a step back, looking stunned, and drops her weapons.

"...You're strong, Lenore. But that strength isn't honed. The knowledge you have doesn't translate to experience, either. Compared to that, Astara fought for at least a decade, and even the younglings you've met have been training for years now."

"......"

"You know what you have to do."
...Even if you had won this, having Kazan wouldn't bring your brothers and sisters back - the one who wielded it last would've used it to bring back the people she cared about if it were possible."
The observers are quiet. And Lenore, who is standing, but hunched over from her injuries, does nothing either...

[Izuru takes a closer look.]
Ah, it's you kids again.

"Oh, it's Big Bro The Hero! It's been a while!"
"You know the new girl too?"
"Hey, hey! This is great! We haven't had guests in ages!"
As for Lenore...
"Please stop pulling my tail..."
From:

Ah, right! But first you need to stop this or her horns will come off!

"Ever since Astara became the boss, we got to learn a lot of new things! We even have 'in-ter-net' now."
"...Do they really come off? They'll just grow back right?"
"No they won't! Stop!"
"Aww...."

I wonder what are you using internet for, now...

"I already want to leave..."
Some of the younglings look at Izuru now.
"So her name's Lenny then!"
"And there's a lot to see on the 'in-ter-net', like cats, and one of you guys in a robot running away from something he's not supposed to...I think."
"I don't see what's funny about that last one."

That video will stay famous forever, huh.

So yeah... hey there.
[And there's Roy's voice coming from the monitor.]
Was kinda-sorta trying to find Lady Lenore here, and normally it'd be awesome that you guys talking about stuff helped me find her... but what the heck's goin' on and what the heck're you trying to pin on her?
From:

[That whole robot thing is still something she hasn't completely gotten used to.]
It's nothing. I was just about to leave.
[However, the other person interrupts and addresses the talking Doomba.]
Actually, there seems to be a misunderstanding.
Lenore is currently in possession of a Kijin weapon sought by an enemy of ours. To make things worse, she herself is part of what is needed for the enemy's plans.
We have been trying to obtain this weapon for many months now, to keep it safe. But our leader opposed us at every turn, and claimed that she would take care of the entire situation surrounding Lenore and the Unity Group. We were told to stay out of it.
Now, there's no more room to wait. As part of adopting Earth culture: the new administrative system for our group allows a majority to make critical decisions in an emergency instead of leaving it entirely to the one in charge.
...I'm sorry, but we can't allow Lenore to hold that weapon any longer.
From:

[The Doomba sloooooowly turns to face Lenore, and then slooooooooowly back to the administrator.]
How does even handing over Kijin powers work, you just... put a firebird vacuum cleaner next to her and turn it on? And what'd happen to Lady Lenore after you get to do this whole handover thing?
You gonna lock her in a prison and throw away the key until Miss Most Disappointing Child Ever gets caught?
From:
no subject
Ah, I should introduce myself. My name is Circe Enfield; I'm a member of the administrative council of the new Foundation.
And that's not quite correct: it's not exactly a power, and more a weapon that bestows power. That solid form can be transferred like any other weapon. Wielding it is a different story.
We're not going to restrict Lenore's freedom, either. On the condition that she hands it over peacefully.
...You know there's no way in hell that's going to happen.
From:
no subject
You gonna go around demanding everything she wants be put in your possession?
From:
no subject
The problem is that it was never some random thing to begin with, was it?
[She looks at Lenore now.]
Does this...individual know that you were the one who revealed Carina's plans to the heads of SSR and the Unity Group? I don't imagine you'd be lying about that. You want to see her stopped as much as anyone else.
...
[But the other Kijin doesn't answer, looking instead like she dug herself into a hole.]

Please don't misunderstand. The Unity Group alone has done a lot for us during the Emperor's uprising, we know your capabilities, and the SSR's from their achievements. But you must realize that as long as Lenore keeps fighting Carina with that weapon, she's putting many people at risk.
At the same time, Unity Group and SSR are not infallible, no one is. In the worst case scenario, it's better to have either Kazan or Lenore out of Carina's reach. She would have to make two moves instead of one, and that can make a very big difference.
From:

[It feels like fighting Jiart was a long time ago.]
And we could use it against him.
From:

The Wulgaru leader, yes? He was looking to hunt and defeat you as prey. At least, that's how I heard that story.
This is different. Carina needs to have possession of Lenore and Kazan in one piece. She could have made more attempts to gain Kazan since ambushing the SSR, but she hasn't. I don't know why that is, when the Gatekeeper is a very powerful weapon on its own, not including those Fake Craft you've fought. But that's why we have to be cautious and keep Lenore and Kazan apart.
[Circe looks over at the person in question.]
This negotiation should really be something Astara takes care of. Among all of us now, she's the strongest and the only one left who is related to you, but her style of leadership is usually just giving orders and disappearing somewhere...like her father.
....
From:

But this is very important so you really should wait for her. This isn't a decision you should make rashly. That's what I think.
From:
no subject
Rashly? This is something we decided on as a community. That's how all of you do things too, isn't it?
No, more than that, we've waited for months - all the administration work was left to us in the meantime. No one knows what Astara's ever really up to, and she's more interested in doing things in her own, specific way.
With how matters outside this group are progressing, we just don't have the room to wait anymore.
