You get a message on your comms from Dido, inviting you to one of the lounges in the Saikhama hanger bays.
Upon arrival, you discover that furniture and tables have been shifted to the side, making room for a chalkboard. A huge old-school chalkboard on wheels, pea-green and with a wood-framed ledge for colored chalk-sticks.
Dido nods to you as you walk in, sternly tapping some chalk to the board.
"So," she says. "Loni and the terrible trio have all the Seals. Soon, they'll make their move to summon the Lady upon this world. Brye and Rani are standing by the wings, ready to hijack the Lady's power and somehow use it to wish away suffering. The Lady herself managed to influence the Lady's Good Men, the UG's foundation and Loni's whole upbringing, despite being in a different dimension. Worse, we still don't know what her true power or form is."
Dido starts writing on the chalk board. "If we're gonna win, we have to figure out what's coming. That means assembling clues, testing theories and answering key questions..."
[2]
"What is the Lady, and what are her capabilities?"
[3]
"What does she want to do to our world?"
[4]
"Why did she arrange for the founding of the Unity Group, the Lady's Good Men, and the Terrible Trio?"
[5]
"What's the most direct way to ruin their plans?"
Dido underlines each question on the board, and turns to face you all. "Class is in session, guys," she pronounces.

The Solaris Mechanic leans against the chalkboard. "Did the Lady think we'd wreck ourselves taking down these enemies? Or does she have some way to make the Unity Group self-destruct?"

We may be holding out for now but every time the Unity Group loses someone....

Dido Sybil hangs her head for a moment.
"I'm really starting to hate this Lady, Calvin," she mutters. "Honestly? I don't care so much about the Earth. I just want to kick her ass and make her regret messing with us. Is that bad?"
From:

Maybe its a bit selfish... but its human to want something for yourself, especially some satisfaction by kicking something in the teeth.

She smacks a fist into her palm. "I don't want to live in the same reality with the being that hurt my friends."
She turns back to the board, picking up a chalk. "So we can safely guess that the Lady is vainglorious and possessed of a god complex," Dido says. "But does she have any other flaws we can exploit? Wrath, envy, greed...love for someone else?"
From:

If its vainglorious with a god complex I doubt it'd love 'lesser beings'.
Favor them if they're useful maybe, but we pretty much saw what happens to their worshipers.
[Ah yes... the Lady's Good Men prisoner. Loni's 'rival' who met his end under the foot of Desta's mech.]

Dido thinks back to her intrusion on the command conference.
"Something that bugs me, which I mentioned to the command staff...if the Lady's end-goal is to assemble the three seals in the Discovery and open a portal to this world...why spend so much effort making a Hero and running him through a hero's journey?"

... Its not just about making a dupe. Its about making an effective tool for the job.
[Its the kind of thinking one would only entertain after an all night coffee binge but...]
Think about it. Loni is a hard headed stubborn brat who refuses to see any sort of reason. Yet despite that he's somehow an absurdly effective pilot with an insane amount of determination to achieve his goals, however egotistical they are.
Someone who wouldn't surrender unless she personally asked them to. Someone who wouldn't see anything beyond what he wanted to see and wouldn't listen to anyone except for those who feed to his worldview.
And taking into account the Lady's the one who's practically built it from its very beginning and pulling the strings to draw in people who'd ensure his tunnel vision like Mlakar and Venczel...
[She has complete and utter control of an egotistical tykebomb with one hell of a punch.]
... More than that even if we do manage to kill Loni and his gang, she might repeat the process again with several new twists and keep us occupied not to notice until its too late.
Screwing up her plans isn't going to be enough Dido. Either we find a way to completely shut her out, or we have to come up with a plan to kill her too.

She frowns. "Here's a more roundabout way of looking at it. What's keeping Loni and the Terrible Quintet (damn you, Brye and Rani) from just uncorking the Lady right here and now?"
From:

More than that she'd have to be able to make sure we wouldn't interfere... or at the very least make sure we'd be too late.
They need to get to the Discovery to get her out and its under high guard thanks to what those two did.

She consults an app on her tablet. "From an engineering perspective, I'd say that would cause massive explosions as contained energy was released...but if destroying either would free the Lady, wouldn't our enemies have done that already?"
From:
no subject
Even then though we wouldn't know where to look on it and we can't systematically destroy the entire thing without unknowingly wrecking something that might cause catastrophic damage to the area round it.
From:

"With controlled demolition, we could seal off the Discovery's entryways, re-bury the whole spaceship in rubble. That way, Loni and the gang won't be able to get inside. Not without making explosions that could damage their plans!"

[And then as if a horrible, HORRIBLE realization struck him... Calvin made this familiar face.]
Oh... shit.

Her eyes widen. "Oh Fudge. Do you mean–?"

[Get to the Teleporters.]
That Brightsaber of his was probably built with the Lady's tech too... why else would the lockdown the commanders slapped onto it have rescinded for him? He wouldn't need any authorization if he's got someone with the ultimate backdoor.
