A Frightening Friend's Return

[In the aftermath of the Wulgaru attack a familiar face makes a return... at least for a while. Leos and his team - not just the two that accompanied him but a number of other pilots as well were taking some time off at a Unity Group base.]

Well... I'm glad not much changed. Like I said to everyone out there.... its good to see you all again.

[There's something odd about Leos as well. For one he doesn't seem as energetic as he was before, and his voice was significantly more calmer too.]



"So this is the Unity Group huh? Can't say I'm impressed."

Boyle. Do shut up. Remille. Keep your brother from talking too much please.



"Understood Commander Klein."

[Boyle simply grumbles and folds his arms while the rest of the Frighteners chuckle at his expense.]

[Kagura turns to the touchscreen next to her. It's demeaning, given she has to paw at the screen like a kitten with her tiny hands, but she's rather serious as she writes]

[Leos raises a hand and slowly curls it into a fist.]

The Human PLUS augmentations stiffened my muscles. It actually hurts for me to try change my expression from something other than this.

[He taps the side of his mouth. Yeah. For someone like Kagura, the horrific cloud of sheer negative emotion clinging to Leos like the world's most tenacious and ravenous parasite was plainly obvious.]

Makes it hard for more delicate work as well, but I suppose that doesn't really matter in the scheme of things.

[Kagura raises an eyebrow. Kagura is literally covered in scars and her larynx is a tic tac toe board - and if she tries to use any of her power without a specially designed interface, she'll probably explode. You aren't going to get a lot of sympathy here.

She turns and writes again.]

not that. i'm not stupid.

But everything will be fine. It always turns out that way doesn't it? I just want to stop the bad guys, same as always.

[Yeah Kagura isn't buying any of that. That was typed unusually fast. Still, she slows down and continues]

things don't just turn out fine. you have to make them. [The fairy looks at Leos sharply]

As much as I want to be Major, I think I'm a little beyond that.

And I'm not lying when I say I want to stop the bad guys either.
