The [Late] Arrival of the Beast

[Exactly one week after the strange encounter at Paradigm City, the strange golden haired boy that appeared to help out there has finally found his way to an actual Unity Group base, after making a strange detour to Hong Kong. His machine seems to have disappeared since the incident with the Kaiju and he's sopping wet from traveling through the rainstorm earlier. On top of that, his entire outfit is in tatters and compared to his rather dapper appearance when he first met folks from the Unity Group, he now looks more like a washed up hobo.]

Oh, so this is where the base was...I thought it was supposed to be a mansion. Maybe the directions I got from that Negotiator were incorrect...

[He doesn't seem too bothered by it.]

[Calvin is jogging over to Theo before skidding to a halt, taking several deep breaths. Yeah he heard and saw a little of what happened at Hong Kong. As such once he caught his breath he only had one thing to say as he pointed at the soggy hobo.]

I mean... I know there's magic and all sorts of crazy things around but actually having someone just upfront and say they're a wizard without me having to start digging around...

And I mean actual wizards. Not just a bunch of fakes trying to be mysterious.

[Yeah, Calvin is still horrifically irritated and embarassed about not knowing about that situation from the place he was isolated in. It didn't help that his requests for updates to HQ on the subject were ignored more than once.]

I'm still wondering how there's people that still deny it doesn't exist.

Pretty much. The Office of Special Investigations is really grounded in 'logic' and 'reality'. Not 'mystical fairy tale nonsense' like Director Holstein calls it...

Oh... and if ANYONE in the office has to deal with supernatural phenomena they get called a crackpot! An insane twit that's only keeping his job so the other investigators look good in comparison and have someone to mess with when they're bored AND-
