[When Calvin and the 13th Genoace Unit arrive unceremoniously with the team that went to retrieve them the exit they made from their machines was... less than graceful. Calvin steps out of his machine looking like he hadn't slept for days. His uniform was a mess and he stumbled a little as he slouched out with a heavy looking pack to which he tossed to the leader of the 13th... who reacted too slow and ended up falling over. The other Genoace pilot who just hauled himself from his machine was pale and scrawny and was currently hyperventilating before making thorough and judicious use of an inhaler. The command car that was with them? Parked with its driver asleep at the wheel.]
... Great... Sorry about that Luther.
[A grunt of exertion was his reply as he was handed back the bag. He leaned noticably. Whether the contents really were that heavy or he was just exhausted or both it was hard to say. Still, he just facepalms and lets out a somewhat despondent noise.]

[Later after having everything from his OSI office sent to him, Calvin was now in his room - which looked like a detective's office rammed head first into a bedroom and a witch doctor/paranormal expert's hut, though admittedly a lot of the objects were repaired with duct tape due to less than careful handling by the people sending them. The Investigator himself was at his cramped desk, trying to decipher a large slab of stone inscribed with a flowing and elegant script that was nigh on indecipherable. Along with him were several books, a pot of coffee, a kettle of tea, and a hellish abomination of the two in a mug that he was drinking in order to smash his brain awake so he can focus on his work. After a good five hours he had this to say.]
I can't understand a single thing on this stone. I've looked up every ancient language on record and even looked up texts from some people I know with a fascination with the Occult. Nothing.
[He sighs and leans back on his chair, glaring at the dim lights on the ceiling and leaning back on his chair mug in hand. Then he falls over and spills everything on himself and has the stone land on him.]
Argh!

Motive? To release something called the 'Ebon King' -possibly their real leader - by any means necessary. That's probably only part of their plan so their endgame's still a mystery.
Force Composition... they have some old Mobile Suits on hand, but those aren't the real threat. They've got those monsters of theirs on hand and tend to let those loose if their regular troops can't do the job well enough. Their leaders might be the biggest threat though.

And its not technology. Its. Magic.

Teleportation technology would probably eat up a large amount of energy meaning that any wake from it could be picked up on a sensor system tuned to it.
Magic? There isn't exactly a hard counter or detection system for it. At least not to our understanding.

[Eva leans against a filing cabinet. She doesn't say anything for a while, thinking.]
You seem to be a very dedicated investigator. But, your boss doesn't like you very much...

[He gets back to work on trying to decipher the rock.]
My boss thinks I'm a crackpot, so does the rest of the OSI. Maybe they would have seen things a little differently if they were with me in Romania, or Japan or even that one area in rural Thailand.
[Calvin suddenly shudders violently.]
Especially that last one. They think the supernatural... stuff like magic, necromancy, ghosts, demons... all of that. They think its nonsense. Especially since they said I had no proof aside from my reports.
[There was a snort of derision here as he opens a few worn out and dog eared books. Some looked like average reference books, others a great deal more sinister or dark.]
People said the same thing about psychics before they were proven to be real. Besides. Some things you just can't keep a piece of so you can show off its real... too dangerous.

...You have a habit of blowing up whatever you are tasked with looking at, and blaming it on wizards.

And when I blame wizards and vampires, I'm not trying to cover anything up. It really was them.

...Have you ever thought that you might just be crazy?

But when you see things with your own eyes enough you stop thinking you're insane and wonder how ignorant everyone is willing to stay.

...Do you know of any secret psychic research projects?

[Calvin sighs before actually looking a little caught off guard.]
And when you say secret psychic research projects... just what kind are you talking about?
DNA splicing and enhancement? Cloning? Attempts at forcing potential through external means? Some kind of bizarre breeding program? All of the above?
I'm pretty sure at least one or all of them got attempted at some point of time and I might have a bit or two of info...

Well there's been a bunch of them... I managed to dredge up a few things... hold on.
[Calvin digs up a carrying case from his desk and pops it open, pulling out a series of files... that may or may not have been vandalized. This earned a noise approaching absolute hatred.]
One of these days I swear I am going to burn down the Central Office and laugh as I do.
[Either way he flips through them, ignoring how much the papers have been messed with - the words 'crazy', 'absurd' and 'disapproven' had been scrawled on a number of them and also happened to be the nicest things among them.]
[Still, there was enough that was legible, a few extremely blurry images, document and newspaper cuttings. Random pieces of information that were supposed to form patterns.]
Project Amber Packet was an old one. They tried to unlock human potential by forcibly melding dna samples from... 'donors' lets call them... into volunteers. A genetic overwrite. Didn't work out. First fatality and volunteer also turned out to be the last. Head exploded.
Project Mountain Rain involved harmonics and Newtypes... resonance factor caused issues. Insanity.
Project Agate Crab... remember how I mentioned cloning? They tried to create a test tube babies from any psychically genetic material they could get their hands on and tried to splice it together... the process didn't work out.
Project Glass Lightning was an attempt to weaponize psionic potential. Something beyond TK systems and such. Facility exploded. Violently.
Projects Ivory Elk and Tundra Sun and Pedantic Blue are... pretty much the three files completely ruined... There wasn't that much info on those three to begin with but they were all reactionary projects to the Russian Programs.

Well, don't go crazy, but one of those projects-or some other one you haven't heard of-was successful.
If you could pursue things from your end and I from the other, it may help resolve this.
