Her condition is the same as before. Eva looks up at the ceiling, struggles against her restraints occasionally, and sees and hears nothing of what goes on around her. Those eyes that fail to see what is right before them instead see...somewhere else.
Eva and the other woman sit on a pleasant, grassy hill with a tree. It's a cool, calm night, gently lit by the waxing purple moon. Snow-capped mountains of flesh lumber through the dark in the distance, heading to some unknowable destination.
The two have sat their for some time, enjoying the pleasant surroundings, and it's the other woman who speaks up first after their long silence.
You still don't believe me, do you.
"...No."
"...I still don't have any reason to believe you. You've been very nice, but this is all...too much. Why would you tell me this? Why wouldn't you just torture me more? I killed Thomas, and many others if what you say is right. It doesn't make sense for you to be kind to me...but it does make some sense for you to lie to me, if you're with Freddy like you say you are. And that's if this is even happening in the first place. So...no, I cannot believe you."
That man trained you too well...Would a hallucination try to rationalize its existence to you? No, don't answer that.
...You say my kindness is confusing, but...Eva, I am your mother. I have always loved you, and I will always love you. No matter what you do, you are my child, and I am your parent.
That man has misled you every second you've been in his presence. It's what he does. I can't hate you for what you've done since he took you away. But...if you want the truth, and you still don't believe me, return to the island of our birth. You'll find more proof there than I could ever give-of who we are, and why they need to burn.
"If I go...If I go, and what you say is true...and I still choose to oppose you, what then?"
The other woman is silent, her expression darkening.
If you understand our anger, and still...She closes her eyes in silence for a few seconds.
...It's time you be leaving. Your mind has healed here, but your body will deteriorate if you stay too long.
"I don't really understand how to..."
Eva stops, as the woman leans over towards her, smiles, and flicks Eva square in the forehead.
Back in the hospital, Eva blinks once, and sees the ceiling for the first time.
1. [For Ren]
Of all the people Eva can think of, there's only one choice for who to call once she's woken up. She waits for them to arrive in the front of the hospital, having changed back into her normal clothes. For a given value of normal, at least-the all black outfit looks somewhat out of place when not going out to do some espionage work. It'll take a while for her friend to appear, so she takes out a small notepad and starts drawing.
2.[For everyone else]
There's no announcement. But soon, if you're paying attention or watching carefully, you may catch Eva stalking around the base, eating in the cafeteria, or practicing in the gym.

[Ren approaches quickly but already calls out to her from a distance away. One hand waving frantically, the other holding a big bouquet of flowers.]
I'm so glad you are released from the hospital. You have no idea how happy I am!
From:
no subject
Ren?...You look...different.
...Those flowers are for me, aren't they.
From:
no subject
[The bouquet is handed over to Eva with a smile.]
Flowers always were a symbol of good wishes, and good health.
From:
no subject
[Bouquet get!]
I'll try to take good care of them...um, but I've never had a plant before, so I don't think it'll go that well.
[She walks alongside Ren out of the hospital, talking along the way.]
...Has everyone been well?
From:
no subject
But, we really have no choice but to continue living, don't we? Everyone understands that.
[Ren smiles a bit sadly.]
The flowers are cut so there's no need to really care for them. Just put them in water.

...Did Edward send any sort of message while I was gone? If he's explained things, I need to hear his side...
From:
no subject
I'm afraid he was being evasive. You should probably ask Roland, but I don't know anything about any explanations.
From:
no subject
Did...something happen to the world, while I was gone? I had a very long dream, and she...it said that there was some kind of dimensional disturbance...
...Sorry, this must sound crazy to you.
From:
no subject
[More shaking.]
The strange and unusual happen all the time. You're talking to one right now, don't you?
Also, you'd be right. Something did happen, Eva.
From:
no subject
What happened?
From:
no subject
[Ren states like it was no big deal.]
I wonder what was your dream about, now.
From:
no subject
...I met a woman. If she's who she says she is, then...The person Maria called 'the divine child', my mother.
From:
no subject
[Ren suddenly looks very interested. Even more so than usual.]
During your dream, I assume? Unless she came for a visit right before I arrived... how was she like?
From:
no subject
She was...calm. Not like Freddy's people. We talked for a long time, about who we are, and how we came to be...She had a lot to say.
...That time I imagined the base was under attack, and that you promised to love me forever? She said that was her attempting to reach me.
From:
no subject
Also, if that was her... I'd love to meet her. It sounds like we have a lot in common, and I wish I could talk to her.
Speaking of which, did she say anything you'd like to tell me about, Eva?
From:
no subject
...She explained my past. How I came to be who I am, and what Edward did...Or, what she said he did.
I don't believe her, but...there may be a way for us to find out the truth for ourselves.
From:
no subject
You don't believe her?
Why not?
From:
no subject
[A pause, before continuing.]
The story she told was...
[Eva shakes her head.]
...If it's true, I need to make sure Edward dies in misery.
From:
no subject
[Ren stops the walk to look straight at Eva, hands put on her shoulders.]
This is very important, you realize it. You should tell someone other than just me, someone you trust and who has a higher rank in Unity Group. About Edward, and your mother - others need to know.
And, you said we may have a way to find out a truth. Will you tell me what it is?
From:
no subject
...People don't come from nowhere. I can't remember much of my past, but I do remember where I was found. If there's even a grain of truth to that dream, then there should be an abandoned military base in the area.
From:
no subject
It sounds like we have a base to visit, then. I wonder, is there anyone dangerous still hiding there?
From:
no subject
Eva? They let you out! Why didn't anyone tell me?
From:
no subject
Oh...I don't like big ceremonies, so...I told the doctor to be quiet about it.
...Were you worried?
From:

From:

[Indeed, it's a small miracle the police weren't called.]
By the time they knew I was better, I was already well enough to tell them what to do.
...I'm sorry, I...didn't know you cared.
From:
no subject
...No. A friend.
