1. (Mostly explanations - really, really long)
[The island hideout owned by Shu is now back in operation. The damaged Granzon is docked quietly in its hangar after a long absence, while its pilot, along with a certain familiar on her usual shoulder perch, touch down on the floor.]
"Heya! Bet you weren't expecting that kind of entrance! Where's that scarecrow? It's been two whole years! ...For us anyway."

"Chika."

"Right, right. All the stuff that happened back there with those kids was messed up. We'll do what we can to help you guys out. And well, Master has to tell you what happened to us after we were cut off from the surface. It's gonna be kinda long."
[Shu clears his throat before he begins.]

"It is as both Willis and Chika have described. Two years have passed in La Gias, while it should only have been a matter of several months here on Earth. Professor Kouzuki and I are still studying the phenomenon presently, but we have confirmed that it is not possible to return to La Gias for the moment. All the better...that world has earned its peace.
"Putting that aside...when we parted ways in La Gias before, I mentioned that I sought to slay a god. That god is not truly a divine being, but nonetheless a powerful one. Its name: Shiva Volkruss.
"This same entity was responsible for providing the Granzon with part of its strength, and its influence was vast enough that a large cult was formed - one which I mistakenly joined for my own reasons long ago. They worshiped Volkruss, and I became an Archbishop among their ranks.
"Despite the decoration, I was only another slave to Volkruss - a vessel for it to possess to seek destruction. There were many deeds I performed...against my will.
"However, after being defeated by the Steel Dragons, I was revived, and realized that I was more in control of my actions than before. The process was imperfect...and thus my link to Volkruss was weakened. The cult failed to notice this initially, and to ensure that they did not, I informed them that I followed you, the Unity Group, to the surface...to locate more suitable sacrifices for Volkruss' revival, and to heighten the chaos that would fuel it."
[The professor's expression hardens noticeably.]

"Of course, there had been far too many sacrifices made, and I had no intention of adding more as long as my body and mind were my own. What I longed for was to free myself, and end Volkruss. After the battle with Asakim Dowen, I brought my closest allies and a number of pilots from the surface, including Willis Clades, to settle the score...
"Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of our long conflict against Volkruss and the cult that worshiped it. As a mystical being, it was capable of returning from death indefinitely...and was only one of a triad of such beings that made up a single, all-powerful entity..."
[And if you thought he wasn't serious before, his frustration is visible just thinking of the next part.]

"Kadum Harkahm. A being that led a race of giants that once populated La Gias - capable of commanding human minds on a vast scale if allowed to reach the full extent of his power. If slain, he would return to the form of the three false gods. And if those were defeated, Kadum would rise again.
"Even with the Masoukishin on our side, it was a difficult battle. We succeeded, but only just. Kadum's defeat required the sacrifice of the elemental spirits that powered the Masoukishin - Langran's strongest machines - which rendered them unusable. But as a result, we were able to cancel out the negative energies that allowed him to continue his cycle of revival and death.
"Kadum's remains...fell into a Crossgate that was present at the time. We were, and are still unaware of his current whereabouts, nor his condition. But being in possession of some of the few machines that were still operable in La Gias, Willis and I decided to pursue."
[He lowers his head slightly.]

"While this is difficult to digest...I have kept secrets from you while I was here. From this point on, I cannot say that I will no longer do so. To add to that, there were times where even I could not expect the outcomes of discreetly planned operations. Therefore, I do not expect you to trust me.
"However, what I stated during the last battle we fought together remains true. You are my important allies - and the fact that the Earth has not been destroyed is proof that you can be trusted."
[While Chika doesn't say anything, she has her wings folded across her chest and is nodding in approval.]

2. (More of an actual prompt - dated to about a day after Birmingham.)
[Some people wandering around will find Shu and his bird standing somewhere with a good view. This means either the top of a building that overlooks part of Sakihama City, or the Star Rose's observation deck, or any such place.
You also overhear a conversation.]

"It's pretty amazing, huh? Almost like we never really left! Looks like the situation's almost the same too, except for the changes that the lady with the alien hair told us about...and this whole rich, influential uncle thing."

"All the more reason I feel that we should have ended our own battle in La Gias."

"On the bright side, Master, I don't think most people expected to hear so much from you yesterday. You definitely don't seem to be the type to have concerns like that, either."

"Hm?"

"W-well, you see, you're kinda...or er...to other people you're..."
[The bird flails while trying to think of how exactly to describe what she means.]

It's a long story, but the end result's that aside from Selena, Elma, and myself, Team Jelba's gone. And Ingram Plissken played some role in it.
