[Once the operation on Nora colony is over, Izuru decides to check on the evacuated civilians. The memory of Commander Bruzar's sacrifice is still fresh in his mind, and he is very conflicted.
And then, when he approaches the evacuees and they actually notice him, something he never experienced before happens. They walk to him wordlessly. Then, tears in eyes, a random person Izuru never met before hugs him in thanks.

[A little later, Team Rabbits from the MJP have officially been assigned to Star Rose as part of Unity Group. Want to meet with its proud members, already declared heroes? There's one right here!]
It's like a dream come true. I didn't expect it to happen that fast. It's so amazing, like a secret base of a hero with a hidden identity! What's that over there?
[Izuru is running around like a little kid on sugar. Right now he's the happiest teenager alive. Anything and anyone is bound to attract his attention.

You were at a military academy for how long, and you never ended up with a punishment detail? [Either this kid is
less of a spacey doofussharper than he appears, or standards are slipping.]And you can pitch me as a consultant if it helps. I have the official certifications for it, and I'm used to NDAs - and security clearance.

Actually, what kind of an academy was it? I admit, I was kind of surprised to find prototype mechs in the hands of such young pilots, out on the front lines.

Nobody in the Academy has any memories from before they got there. They were removed for some reason.

Cathy's going to be looking up whoever's listed as the MJP's UG liason and asking some pointed questions after this. Even if a kid that young could be held capable of consenting to something like that, by the sound of it he'd been raised from birth specifically for the role, which was all kinds of No.

Still, you did get to be a hero today, kid. To the people of Nora, and to a lot of other colonists who've been scared of a UE or Wulgaru attack coming at them out of the black. Not a bad start, so long as you don't let it go to your head.
