"Fuck!"

Loni kicks the wall of the hangar angrily.

"That Constans guy is one thing, but against Ingram, FightSaber was absolutely useless. If he hurt Ilinka... damn, I knew we couldn't trust that guy! There was something really shady about him all the time."

"At this rate, FightSaber's going to need an upgrade. It just won't cut it anymore."

And if that fails, then everybody is doomed. Even children playing monster rpgs learn that lesson.

[Omitting his own past issues...]

And unlike them, if we go down for real, there's no reset button.

And everything would include helping everyone improve. Which I'm pretty sure would also improve our odds. Project Sol did this stuff for years, against an ever escalating - ever more powerful - foe. And you know what happened? They got in more people. They had more units. Units that came together to form a great whole, but still could fight well on their own. Because if you build the foundation on a single pillar, then the enemy knows where to bring the whole tower crumbling down.

Especially if the Rivale isn't the only thing of its kind.

You can work with people though, especially those closest to you.

Honestly, if I'd start anywhere for improving units, it'd be finding something to replace the Gespenst on your team. The Sabers are strong, but that's a grunt machine. I imagine Ilinka might appreciate something more sturdier, unless she's grown attached to the thing.

Customs eh? Sounds expensive... but its a start. Any idea what the upgrades'll look like?
