Of course it is. Everyone did an awesome job working on Red Five!

I bet they are. It's one of a kind, right? With that special system and everything.

Junior, do you believe in destiny?

Not really. I mean, destiny is something that heroes make with their own hands, right? It's not being decided by some sort of higher power.

Why?

So you don't believe that everyone got some role designated for themselves?

[herodrawing]

Well, you still have a role designated, like I'm the Red Five pilot... but that's decided by other people, not fate.

[ben_dixon]

What makes some people got designated some role and not the other then?

[herodrawing]

A little bit of luck, mostly other people... and your own decision, sometimes. For me it was mostly the teachers at the academy, I guess.

... You don't like your own "role"?

[ben_dixon]

You watch a lot of superhero shows, right?

[herodrawing]

Yeah, I do.

Don't you think it's sad that some people become a superhero, while others just become innocent bystander, or some two-bit cop that got blasted by the villain two minutes into the episode?

[herodrawing]

Not everyone can be a hero. A comic can have only one main character.

But... I know what you mean. Normal cops and others who don't have super powers aren't trying any less hard than the hero. They just don't have the same kind of strength, and because of that the bad guys can push them around.

It's not really fair.

That's exactly what I meant. What makes some people become main characters, and others just become supporting characters?

In the end, I think it's just... luck. A certain kind of luck.

I mean, for my life as long as I remember I was learning how to fight, or fighting. And I was in the worst ranked team in the academy. That doesn't sound lucky at all.

But I can pilot Red Five. Maybe one day I will be a main character too.
