[Over the days following the last mission to La Gias, Kei took an unusual interest in things like news reports, information coming in from the various groups sponsoring Unity Group and similar. More specifically she was looking into any reports about whether the two surviving Glory Stars had been found.]

Who was that man? Dr. Shirakawa seems to have had contact with him in the past, but he's not here now...Maybe there'd be notes at his hideout?

That guy... I don't mean dr Shirakawa, but that black unit guy.

He's ruining everything! It's all his fault again!

At least that's good. I don't know who that was, but if he's dead then at least it's all finally over.

Yeah. You're right, Kei! We just need to find them and things will go back to normal.

I don't think it was that man that Shu had crossed paths with. I'm sure if we could get information abut the Cybuster, compare it to what we saw of that black machine maybe there'd be something. But...

[He just sighs, shaking his head.]

... I wouldn't know. It feels like there's some other whole big story from what they were talking about. Using a "girl" and just everything else in La Gias...

But you're right. His hideout's the only thing that could possibly be a lead for us.

Certainly seemed like everyone down there had heard of Shu Shirakawa and the Granzon, so that's not surprising.

Or a mix of both. The way he talked to Shu he certainly knew things... things about someone and her power-

[No doubt Setsuko, considering everything.]

Then there's the similarities between that machine and the Cybuster. Though the saving grace there is that Asakim Dowin is dead... you don't just dust yourself off after being hit point-blank with the Black Hole Cluster.

Asakim Dowen, he called him... after his familiar had called the machine a 'ripoff of Cybuster'.

I've... never heard of this Cybuster, personally, but that kind of reference sounds rather on the nose.

Re: 2

Tone and stuff.

[Ken admittedly sounds shaky as he gives that explanation.]

He sounded as if he were... specifically cultivating Setsuko's power. Even when she co- can barely control it as it is.

Re: 2

...That's true... Despite every ample opportunity he had, Asakim didn't finish us off. Now, he might've intended to savour it... but that wasn't the case with Denzel. After nearly being blown up with the base, after he reappeared, Asakim promptly cut him down...

[This has Ken thinking, though he seems... troubled, by the implications, at least the ones he's imagining.]

Re: 2

Depends on if they want her, or if they want whatever power she has. Depending on what it is... those two factors don't have to go together.

Really wish we had some idea of where she was, because if there's anyone else...

If that is the case, then it would be extremely difficult to recover them.

However, I am not certain they really are stuck in the underground world... That is not how Setsuko's ability works.

I do not think any part of La Gias counted as safe in the circumstances you were in. This is why I do not think she is there.

...She might be in an entirely different place. Maybe not even on Earth.

I will not lie; the probability that they went MIA permanently is not zero.

But it is not very large, either. Only a few days have passed so far; the average time spent looking for missing soldiers until they are found is much longer than that.

How good is our contact with remote colonies? It is not impossible that they ended up on one of them.

Thus making communication with them more difficult, on matters not directly related to these threats.

I believe one of these remote locations is where they might have ended up.
