[Well folks, it looks like there's going to be some standard day to day broadcasting here and there. But wait, what's this? It seems that one channel has an interview pop up with a pair of Jaeger pilots. Two very specific ones in fact that you are all familiar with. Raleigh and Yancy are practically drinking in the cheers of the audience before they take their seats.]
"Becketts! Good to have you here. I'm sure you've been very busy making the world safe from the Kaiju, but I'm glad that you've found time in your busy schedules to drop by."
Hey, can't exactly forget about the people we're trying to protect can we? When it boils down to it, a Ranger's just like any other man or woman. We're all human
"But the both of you are definitely something special, I can tell you that. But anyway, lets get to our questions shall we? Now we've heard that along with the PPDC, the two of you have also been working with the Unity Group, can you tell us a little about them? Nothing classified of course, just the day to day."
Yancy, you want to start us off?

"You've probably read the press releases: officially, the Unity Group is a non-national task force created by the ESUN to defend all of Earth and human occupied space from the things that threaten it, regardless of what said threats actually are. In other words, it's a rapid response group, kind of like a firefighting team."
Yancy chuckles. "But as Raleigh and I discovered when we moved into their hanger bays, the UG's a lot more than that."

There's some friction here and there between some of the pilots but that's always something you'd expect, but from what I'm seeing... they're like a family there. One that'd fight tooth and nail to keep everyone they can safe, and I'd have to say I'm pretty honored that the Marshall had us work with them.

He clasps his hands together. "But now, all the members of these organizations, soldiers and scientist alike, are bumping heads together. There's friction, like Raleigh says, but at the same time, the Unity Group is starting to become something greater than the sum of it's parts. It isn't shackled by a national agenda, or limited by a specific goal: because of that, the UG and it's members can fight to protect the whole world, and fight for the ideals of...?"
Yancy frowns. "Huh. How would you put it, Raleigh?"

"Elaborate on that a little if you please Mr Beckett. The meaning is a little hazy."
[Raleigh rubbed at his chin thoughtfully as he pondered his next words.]
Well let me put it this way... when you look back to when you were a kid, you'd always end up seeing at least some kind of story about heroes fighting the good fight. Doing it to protect everyone out of the good of their hearts. Believing in other people and helping them out.
Hope. Its been back and forth with every new thing that turns up and sometimes things get pretty dark...
But I like to think that with the Unity Group around, it won't just be another candle to keep it back. It'd be a spotlight to chase it all away.

He taps a finger against his leg in thought. "Perhaps we're putting the cart ahead of the horse here: the UG, at the moment, is still a motley group of ace pilots with a teleport network...and man, it's got lots of spunky, reckless youngsters on the roster!"
He grins a white-toothed grin. "But I predict–even though predictions like these tend to go awry–that the UG will change the world. That it will change it for the better, and make a future where humanity no longer fears what exists out there..."
He points a fingers towards the sky." ...or in here." He points to his heart.

He chuckles. "It's not even a real sport!"
