The Indalph... Something tells me we have not seen the last of them. One can only wonder what the future holds.

Not all news are so uncertain, however. The results of the games we held have surfaced; the Gebian High Council support for the Pro-Earthling Party raised from twelve to nineteen percent, and for the Anti-Earthling Party fell from fourty to thirty eight percent. Some of my people started to show interest in Earth's sports, as well - most notably cheese rolling, and what they presume lacrosse is about.

The numbers might not look favorable, but it is but the first endeavour out of many. A peaceful solution became a much closer reality, and it is all thanks to your efforts, and your willingness to participate in a potentially degrading event.

It does not change anything at the moment. What matters is that we have the majority of votes once the Grand Vote starts. Until that point, the AEP will do what it wants anyway.

Apart from all the paperwork, constant calls on every topic and having to be diplomatic towards everyone, including fools and those you despise? I suppose it is pretty close, yes.

... But those two parties only make up 57%... what about the other 43? Undecided, or are there other parties in Gebian politics?

The High Council is a mess of groups, coalitions, and independent individuals of all kinds. The rest of them have not proclaimed their support for either AEP or PEP yet. Making sure they see the truth is what PEP's politicians at home work towards, every day.

But it must almost be embarrassing for us then considering how much conflict there is between human groups. And even after you fought that other general...

... If two opposing political factions on Earth engaged in that kind of skirmish it would probably be the signal towards full-scale civil war... as stupid as it is.

A civil war is going to erupt if someone decides to go against the results of the Grand Vote. But until then, both AEP and PEP are free to do what they want - since what we do technically deals with an alien race, not on Gebian territory, the lines of what is a legal action and what is not are muddled.

It is a sports discipline very close to the heart of an average Gebian.

So when is the vote anyway? How much time do we have to convince your people?

We can, and we will. When Earthlings put their minds to something, there is nothing they cannot do.

Regardless, unless the AEP manage to pull off an amazing turnaround, I do not see them winning the Grand Vote. And there are people back at home who will make sure that will not happen. I am not the only Gebian who is working towards peace between our races; just the only one you interact with.

Not immediately. I expect the next dignitary to visit no earlier than in a few months. I also expect showing them what Earth is capable of will require less of a circus than this time.
