[1 - Locked to Kaname.]
[So, the last few weeks have proved... interesting, for the Unity Group's would be ninja. He got his new unit, and since then twice helped to thwart the bad guys... but at the same time, there's been failure, near-casualties, and even more mystery as enemies pop out of the woodwork. A whole lot of stuff that could lead to a whole lot of stress...
Thankfully, he had arranged for a potential release, with the help of one Kaname Chidori.
Cards.]
Hit me.
[Specifically, black jack. Poker was on the proverbial table for later - for now, they were just experimenting. Right now, as he looked at his cards, he was making a terrible bet...
Trying to go for 21, when he was already on 18.]

[And of course, as the game goes on, perhaps you pass by Ken's room on the base - and find yourself curious as to what's going on inside?]

[Where most teenagers play for fun, Kaname Chidori is totally down for playing for money. Particularly with summer vacation approaching in August.]

[What Ken hasn't let on, is that he only agreed to the money aspect because he, in fact, doesn't get paid for his work here. Success here would mean something he could actually spend!]

If you say so.
[Kaname slowly peels the top card off the deck, then flips it over right as it's about to hit the able.]

Nooooo...!
[His head falls in shame.]

You know, I warned you. I'll start shuffling for our next round. You dig out your wallet.
[Kaname begins to collect the next few cards for their next game.]

[Ken has realised his fate. Still...]
Thanks for saying yes to this though. Been a while since I've really done something so... mundane.

[Kaname starts shuffling.]
Oh yeah, it's nothing. Things are pretty boring around here. For me, anyway.
[She's become well aware of the dangers the pilots routinely face.]
It gives me something to do on my day off.

[Ken signals for the double or nothing. He's already in the red, so might as well...]

No, it's nothing like that!
[Thankfully!]
Normally, Kyoko and I play video games or something at home, but that's not really an option with me living on base.
[Kaname begins to deal.]
It'd just be weird to bring her here.

[Ken glances over his cards as they're given, a curious gaze in his eyes, but nothing more.]
Though you could like, maybe arrange a trip into town or something. Get someone to come along so you can't get yelled at for security reasons or whatever, and voila.
[In fact, considering who he just worked with...]
Maybe one of the autobots could be your chaperone?
From:

[Kaname makes a face at that.]
I don't know what would be worse -- Sousuke, or one of them.
[Though explaining Sousuke's presence might be a lot easier than explaining why an autobot is tagging along.]
At any rate, Kyoko and I hang out a lot after school anyway. It's not any day that I can play cards with you.
[Especially since a lot of their missions seemed to coincide on weekends.]

[You can almost hear an 'aw, shucks' in the background.]
A-Anyway! That reminds me, there's been some... talk, as to what should be done about my education.

"I've always wondered what the room of a teenage Ninja looks like..."

Could'a knocked.
[Ken doesn't even look up, deep in the midst of losing Poker against Kaname now.]

RE: 2
Wait a second, are you two gambling in here? I thought you didn't actually draw a paycheck Ken so how are you intending to cover any debts you rack up?

Re: 2
[Judging by the flustered look on his face, Ken's not so cunning scheme has been revealed. Well done Yuuya.]

Re: 2
Traditionally yes when the door is shut. You had the door partially open and your voice carried into the hall where I heard it in passing.
Look just how far down are you at this point Ken because it doesn't sound like the day's been going your way at all.

Dido takes a step inside, taps her foot on the floor a few times, then sighs.
"Not even a Nightingale Floor..."

Hey there, it's me.
[She's already one foot inside of your room but she's knocking anyways in the name of formality.]
This a bad time?

Some talk? What are you talking about?

Re: 2
Kaname's clearly here for the money. Okay, and the good company. But she could do with a little extra money.

Re: 2
Wait, what's this about you not getting paid?
[How is he going to pay her back if he's not even drawing a salary?]
