Okay! Energon Pump is installed, and the recalibration for the power feed should be alright...

[Wheeljack has decided to.... experiment. Specifically in the testing of adapting Energon for usage in Earth Based Machines to amplify their combat capability. Admittedly only a small amount was used for the test but it was regarded as enough. A trio of modified mooks (Genoace, Bushnell and a Destroid Tomahawk stand proudly for usage - admittedly with far more cabling across their bodies than they should normally have.]

... Ratchet, is all that really necessary?



Yes. Yes it is Wheeljack. We all know how your experiments go, better safe than sorry - especially since we have humans getting involved.

[Ratchet is standing close by with an emergency team on standby, looking nonplussed. Wheeljack looked rather sheepish despite a lack of visible facial expression.]



You never know though, this might be the next big breakthrough!

[Wheeljack sounded pretty pumped for the test runs.]

I even got Rewind over here to record everything for posterity.



[The Cassette-bot waved at Ratchet and let out a burst of odd, distinctly mechanical noise... was that their language? Either way, Ratchet sighs.]



Lets just get this over with. Pilot, you may go when ready.

[Ken's certainly been one afflicted by a lack of performance in his machine, but just listening to Ratchet...]

How do his experiments normally go?

Lets just say I've taken to keeping a lot of spare parts in his size and leave it at that.



Alright Ken! Are you ready? Now... According to my calculations, just that trickle of energon pumping through the Mobile Suit should give you an estimated performance boost by about Two Hundred and Fifty Percent!

Lets start it off-

[Ratchet fixes Wheeljack with a glare, making the inventorbot raise his hands in a warding gesture.]

Lets avoid going too fast alright? If Wheeljack's estimates are right, moving too much right off the mark may throw you off completely.

This energon stuff sounds pretty powerful then... then again, has to be, if it keeps guys your size fuelled for any good length of time.

[Ken closes up the cockpit, and begins booting things up. Alright, easy first step...

WHAM

And that's the far wall.]

... Huh.

[Wheeljack actually looked surprised at that and looks at Rewind.]

Did you get all that?

[A nod was given.]

That looked closer to a three hundred percent boost than two-fifty. I guess I underestimated just how much energy was being regulated into the suit.



[This of course earned an exasperated sigh from Ratchet.]

Ken, are you alright in there? Do you need any assistance?

[Just...watching this from a safe distance, he's not the pilot a robot kind of guy what with his dumb magic, but hell this is interesting to see]

So what is Energon supposed to be again, exactly?

Fuel, lifeblood, ammunition. Take your pick. Its energy that's been concentrated into a distinctly potent form.

And you're gonna...hyper charge a Genoace with it.

Not the best of ideas honestly, but Wheeljack insisted that it could be helpful in the long run.

When I talked to Optimus about it, he said he doesn't know what Energon can do to a machine not built specifically to handle it.

[The Destroid's pilot is having second thoughts.]

...Are you sure this is safe?

Positive! There's safety equipment ready and there's a plan for any possible errors that may happen!



Just so you know I've ensured the medical crews have ulcer medicine on hand just in case.

Where do we start? Maneuvers? Target practice?

Lets go with a basic systems test! After some of the Genoace Results I think I've managed to dial down any possible problems that may come from overperformance.



Operative word here being 'think'. Go as lightly on the controls as you can.

[Setsuko is not test piloting anything. Virgola is carrying a mobile suit-sized chemical fire extinguisher.

[Ratchet looks at Setsuko pointedly.]

Please tell me you have spares.

Yes. But please don't worry about it, it's only a non-compatible unstable power source. Wheeljack is right, what could go wrong?

Wrong bot to talk about faith with Wheeljack. Anyway Setsuko, I'm seeing a systems spike on one of the machines. You may want to get ready.

[Regarding the results of the Genoace tests Yuuya turns to look at Wheeljack.]

Wheeljack, I want you to make me a promise. That you will never get involved with TSF development. I appreciate the sentiment but if the TSF's output ever had what happened with Genoace happen to them, I'd probably wind up across a kilometer or more of rubble and scrap.

[This earned a resentful grumble at the medic.]

Alright Lieutenant. I promise I won't get involved with TSF development.



Good. Considering what stress is already put on the human body using them and the amount of special equipment and training needed, the energon infusion would more or less liquify a human being.

And that isn't an exaggeration. I already ran through the variables.

[Hearing Ratchet's evaluation on what would happen Yuuya's face blanches and he seems mildly shaken.]

Yeah, thanks for the consideration there Ratchet but next time a little less graphic would be nice while I'm standing here. I've seen some pretty graphic stuff in the conditioning for anti-BETA operations so I can pretty much imagine that and it's not the prettiest picture.

I'm expecting a lot of good results here, if everything goes well we can start trying this out on the more complicated machinery - like those Valkyries!



As someone who's seen my fair share of Wheeljack's experimentation, I'm expecting chaos, systems failures, collapses, crashes, mechanical damage... essentially another day in the lab with him.
