[Its been a few days since the encounter with the Knights of the Guiding Hand, and in particular, since Ken found himself on the receiving end of the Tiankui, and its pilot. After spending some time recuperating, and checking in with the others who were there, Ken's decided that a few things need to change...

And thus, inside one of the many empty buildings used to cover the existence of the Sakihama base, Ken can be found setting up a gym for himself, out of various scrap and other bits that he could find lying around. Of course, him sneaking all this out wasn't exactly possible without gaining someone's attention, which might explain why you're here...]



Right...

[He seems... oddly relaxed, compared to his usual self. Also, he evidently has a different set of clothes.]

[Hours later, he's back at base, but one may have noticed him going over some rather ancient looking scrolls in and around the compound. The things look more like they belong in a museum than in some teenager's hands, but he's studying them quite thoroughly with interest and intrigue...]



To think they had to figure all this stuff out back when the gun was a curious idea...

No school - these are artifacts passed down by each side, used to teach the next generations.

[Evidently, Ken's looking to be a bit more self-taught.]

"Ah I see, still useful my mother seems to be entirely oral she's got no written aspects to it...it's always made me wonder as I'd never been able to find any thing quit like it. She also claims it's as old as if not older as anything from Asia..."

I wouldn't be surprised if other parts of the globe managed to develop the usage of ki. It'd be silly if it was just kept to obscure clans in Japan...

[Ken muses, wondering then a bit on how the differing styles might be distinct.]

I suppose yours is more of a direct inheritance, than a 'school' of teaching. Got more cousins than I can count...

"It makes sense if something works, even if groups are isolated it wouldn't be hard to guess that two groups could figure the same thing out. Yes it really is though she claims it's a school of martial art."

You get a choice about getting taught, or did you have to because your mother wanted it?

"She started when I was very little it's always been part of my life so long as I can recall. I don't mind to be honest. I enjoy it I always feel the urge to fight to be honest it's ... enjoyable."

You never grew out of it? Ever found the more 'normal' kind of life leading you away from what your mother might have wished?
