Following the fight at Sakihama, SSR forces arrived - and soon after, even the Shirogane. This can't be just a coincidence or reinforcements to fight Balmarians, and indeed it isn't.

"The ESUN council made its decision regarding Linjun's request. It's only fitting that I, being the inspector and envoy to ESUN, read it." Inspector Jou speaks to a hall full of personnel from both organisations, while others are watching on video feeds.
"From this day on, Unity Group and SSR assets are being combined into one force, known as Project Unification. The force's primary objective is to stop hostile encroachment of alien forces - Za Balmary Empire and the entity known as the Lady, into the Earth Sphere, by any means necessary. For the sake of this objective, Project Unification has full jurisdiction and doesn't respond to any external chain of command other than itself. Its secondary objective is to neutralize hostile groups from within the Earth Sphere, such as the Lost Seekers and still functioning members of Cambio Protocol. Jurisdiction here is limited, and full reports are expected to be submitted..."
"Not to interrupt you Inspector, but let's leave the minutae for people who deal with them. What of the joint organisations' personnel and their standing?"
"Of course. Project Unification members will mostly hold their old ranks until the project's dissolution, which will come after the primary objective is fulfilled. The exceptions are limited to shuffling among the leadership ranks. The acting commander and highest authority of the Project was, despite some protests, in the end decided to be..."

"Is this... are you joking? Have you made a mistake?"
"I assure you I have not, captain. Oh yes, speaking of which. Having evaluated your performance, the council decided your acting rank within Project Unification to be the captain of the flagship Shirogane, captain Lee Linjun. Congratulations."
Lee looks ready to eat his own hat.

"Project Unification's first operation will begin immediately." Viletta uses the gathering as an opportunity to already start a briefing.
"It will be a two front strike. During yesterday's battle, Brust managed to land a shot on Apollonius Gavin's machine. The bullet contained a tracking device, and thanks to it we pinpointed the area Gavin retreated to. Satellite scans confirm presence of a large object. One that looks like the Discovery of Self, crashed but still in one piece."
"The problem is, contact with locals was cut off recently. The same happened to a recon team sent to investigate. We are not going there to investigate. Our mission is to get there, secure the Discovery, and neutralize Gavin and his friends. This is a job for a small, elite squad that has experience dealing with the Lady and her lackeys. In other words, people present right here."
"The second front is in space. The group that captured Armana is known as Golar Golems, an elite Balmarian strike force. We don't have mobility to chase after them, but they can't make it to Balmar by themselves either. A small contingent of the Balmarian Fifth and Sixth fleets was detected emerging from the Crossgate. The two will be making contact soon."
"This is when we strike. The fleets aren't in full strength and their Zehiruts didn't have the opportunity to reconfigure themselves to be effective against Earth-made units yet. Project Unification will gather all forces available and launch a surprise attack. If everything goes well, the Balmarian invasion on Earth may stop there before it can even begin in earnest."
"Not to mention, this gives our agent an opportunity to take Princess Armana back..."

And from my stay at Unity Group, I have grown more than used to happy-go-lucky soldiers. I doubt you will have any trouble cooperating.
