To my friend Daniel:
I knew you will find this eventually. Listen to my message; the password is something only you would know.
The first part is the name of your energetic friend.
The second part is the name of your calm friend.
The third part is the third name of God.
Access the data, and learn the truth.
TD

[That was the message attached to the data disk Daniel found in the ruins of the old Lost Seeker compound. And now, thanks to Greta's answer, he knows the third part of the password.]

Maggie. Bobby. Nothing.

[He inputs the password. The datadisk accepts it. On it, there is an audio file. Daniel starts to listen as a voice can be heard in the room - a voice that, if you discount the lack of artificial synthetic parts and metallic resound, sounds suspiciously familiar...]

Hello, Daniel. I knew you will manage to learn the password. After all, you're a man I know very well. Now, it's time for you to learn the truth.

I am Tam Defoe, the creator of Guns of God. A weapon that could both utilize its wielder's desire for enlightenment and help him reach it at the same time - an amazing invention, don't you think? I wanted the Guns to be used to defend humanity, to create heroes who could protect us from numerous dangers trying to destroy us. I was a fool.

Too late had I realized that the men who contacted me, who helped me create my dream - the other two Wise Men - have a different goal in mind. Jason Godefroy, so charitable and wise on the surface, is a crazed fanatic, obsessed with the idea of learning the truth about God, and will let the world burn to accomplish that. Tore Prospero, the brilliant engineer who helped me with creating the tools for our army, is an amoral bastard who doesn't care about anything as long as he gets his money and more toys to play with.

It's too late to step back now. Godefroy's brainwashing turned the Lost Seekers into his own personal army. They think the people of the world are injust, and killing them is the way to reach enlightenment. They're wrong, but if I told Godefroy that, he'd get rid of me. There's only one way to stop this... I did some terrible things in the past, blinded by my vision, but this will be the most terrible of them all.

I set up all the bombs already - if my calculations are correct, their explosion will kill my two compatriots and most of the Lost Seekers, as well as destroy most of the Legionnaires. The crusade will end before it even started, and all that blood - blood of desperate, unfortunate people, turned into future killers by Godefroy's lies - will be purely on my hands. This is better than letting them spill even more blood, and that offers me a bit of solace. Not much.

I know that as soon as the ruse is up, I'm going to be killed by the survivors. And yet, I don't intend to die here. The machine is ready - as soon as I set off the detonator, I'm going to enter it and subject myself to the same cyborgization process all of our pilots receive. The fake memories also are ready - they are not the best I could create, considering the limited schedule I had to work with, but they will do the trick. May this second life be my chance at redemption.

Yes, Daniel, you hear it right; all of your memories from before the explosion, your life in the orphanage, your best friends Maggie and Bobby... It's all just a fabrication. I know it's hard to learn that, but I know you're a tough man who be able to deal with it.

After all, you are me.

...One more thing, an important thing. I am sure you know how the Gun of God operates - as its wielder kills the unjust, he gets closer to God. Even I, its creator, can't formulate the specific definition of who counts as unjust and who doesn't - but I know for certain that those who misuse the gifts given to them to commit heinous deeds do. The Gun of God is one of those gifts. If, somehow, remnants of the Lost Seekers still try to start their crusade, it is your job to stop them. And, eventually, when you kill enough of the unjust, you will instinctively know that you're close enough to God to unlock the Gun's true power. At that point, you only need to follow these instructions-

...

[Click. Daniel stops the recording. Slowly, he takes a step to the side, without saying a word. And he slams his fist into the wall.]
