1. [Jen was KO'd immediately after the VIPER attack on the art exhibit. And while Nemain regenerated her gunshot wound without any difficulty, it doesn't seem to have any effect on her being knocked out. In fact, she's out for a long while-long enough to get transported to the sickbay and examined. She's lying there, various charts on the table beside her.]
[Slowly, Jen stirs.]
...Hey.
2.

[Jen's discharged fairly soon after her awakening. But that doesn't mean she's doing well. She sits in the longue late that night, well into the time where she'd normally be asleep. A TV runs through some 24-hour news channel, while Jen slumps back in her chair. There's a glass of scotch on the table next to her, along with two vials labeled "for jenny <3" in an overly-girly hand. And scattered on the coffee table in front of her, between her and the TV is...tables. Actuarial tables, to be precise; along with a brain scan, and descriptions of a disease.]

[It wasn't easy for Sielje to find her - yet there she is. With a collection of items in front of her. The Ankaian does not understand all of their purposes perfectly...]
What is wrong?
[But enough to be concerned.]

[Jen's voice sounds like it's on the verge of breaking.]
...You're...gonna want to sit down for this.

[Sielje quickly relocates a chair next to Jen's.]

...The disease that my father had-Bolero syndrome-Some people have a genetic predisposition to it. It isn't a problem until you're in your late fifties, at the earliest, so I hadn't gotten tested...
...Well, it's not normally a problem until then.

[Sielje can add two and two together. Even if the result is not something she's happy with. She takes a deep breath.]
Normally... why is it different for you?
From:

Yeah...
[Jen awkwardly shifts in her seat.]
...That...thing I do, where I go super fast? That sort of thing...bodies aren't meant to do that. Whether it's flesh and blood or reinforced steel doesn't matter, things break when you put that kind of wear on them. The nanobots in my blood can fix just about anything, but...they can't fix brain. So...stuff adds up.
Believe me, if I knew any of this before today, I'd never have done that.

...
What can we do to cure this?
From:

I mean...I've got some time. Five, maybe ten years...before it doesn't matter anymore.

There must be something we can do! This is not a fate you deserve!
[Sielje clenches her fists tightly. She can't believe it... but she can't do anything except to accept it. She doesn't want to, but she has to.]
To fade out in a few years, just like that...

...I haven't given up yet. Like, you're from another planet and we killed a demon god. We live in a time of miracles. If there's anything out there...I'll find it.
...Just...I want you to be ready if I don't.

Jen...
[Sielje puts her hands on Jen's shoulders, looking up close in her eye.]
If there is a cure, anything, in this world, we will find it. Yes? We will find it together.
[If there is one...]
