"Sheesh, Hikari. Well, you technically didn't use the Bahamut Crash, that's true. But you still ended up uncouncious from using all of your mental energy? Can't you pilot Bahamut without hurting yourself once?"
The kids are once again hanging around Bahamut Metalia as Shoji is doing daily maintainance on it. Apparently they're now discussing Hikari and Bahamut's latest excursion, which is the fight against Cambrio Protocol. In that fight, Hikari strained herself manning Bahamut's Metalia's anti-air defense and turned herself uncouncious.

"I wonder what's even your purpose, Hikari Shimamura. Bahamut Metalia was fully capable on operating independently. Why did Sir Matsuyama even attached the Neural Link system to it. And the more furious thing is, why are you the only one capable of using it. An elite and educated all-around talent like me would be more proper to use it rather than some lucky hack like you who can't even remember its proper name."

"Hey, don't say that. I'm... useful. Even if Bohemian Metalia originally can operate autonomously, I bet he's more efffective and all with me piloting him."

"That's true. After all, human brain still have some advantage in heuristic and energy efficiency and whatnot compared to most computer processor. I bet my grandfather realized how much better Bahamut would be if he's paired with a human brain."

"Yes yes, that must definitely be it. Heusomething something processing efficiency whatchamalit. That's definitely the reason why Prof Matsuyama put a neural link system on Bahamut and why I'm needed to pilot him. Bahamote totally need me to be as awesome as possible. Why else would he need a human pilot!"
Bahamut is noticeably silent on this whole discussion.

"On a more important thing."
After they finish discussing about Hikari and Bahamut's latest excursion, they move on to another topic. Katsuhiko spread out a map on the table. It's apparently an old topographical map of Mount Asaya, the group's original hometown and where Bahamut Metalia was excavated.
"I didn't spent my time dilly dallying while you guys are busy fighting, of course. This is an ancient map of Mount Asaya. As you know, my family had lived in the region since time immemorial. The local legend about the mystical sleeping dragon that's been passed in my family is definitely too suspicious to be coincidental. Apparently there used to be some shrines worshipping the sleeping dragon god all over Mount Asaya. Most had been lost from memory and map, but I managed to get this map from our warehouse. I'm going to start investigating each of them one by one. There's definitely a connection between the legend and you, Bahamut Metalia. This might be the key to find your missing memory!."

"...do we really need to...?"

"Hm? Were you saying something?"

"No, nevermind."
The kids then are busy discussing about future expedition on Mount Asaya. Though from the hullaballo, it seems closer to be a discussion about a friendly hiking trip. Hikari and Kagami are already busy debating between bringing Onigiri or Sandwich after all. Feel free to join them!
