Goodbye

(Sorry about this. I'd wanted to do it like a month ago or more, but stuff has been going on in my life and it was delayed.]

[It's been quite a while since the mission in the Middle East and her subsequent hospitalization, but finally Alex is back at one of the bases. She's lost a bit of weight in the hospital but otherwise looks no worse for the wear, her new prosthetic legs hidden by her pants. Her expression is somewhat stiff, as if she's trying to not let some emotions show.]

Hi. It's been a while, but the hospital finally let me out. I've been trying to follow the news and people have visited me, but I'm sure there's a lot of stuff I missed while I was gone, so I hope everyone has been okay.

But, [she hesitates for a bit,] I'm not here to return to service. While there I was thinking and I decided to return to civilian life to finish my studies. I just wanted to personally say goodbye and check up on you instead of simply vanishing from the hospital. I'll try to stay in touch, even if military schedules and time zones might cause issues at times.

Also, don't worry about me, I just left the hospital, I'm doing well enough that I can be concerned about others without it getting too much.

... The Sphere activated. It was a really horrible sensation but it passed soon. Only now, the medical team says there is nothing wrong with me but I can't really taste anything anymore.

I see. I hope you'll get better and the sphere remains under control.

Right. And it sounds like Unity Group has had a lot going on while I was away.

Yes, through quite a lot. I don't even know where to begin...

But I don't think we're doing that bad, actually. It feels like everyone is finally managing to push it back - all the threats, I mean.

Right. I've been following the news and it does seem like things are finally starting to get under control. Hopefully it'll prove true.

Well... on the other hand, a few of our enemies have banded together under one banner to take us down. It's worrying... even if it means they consider us such a threat that they're forced to do it.

And they haven't had much success yet, either...At least I imagine I'd have read it in the news if they did.

They stole the SSR flagship, though...

...Okay, that's worse. Who knows what they're going to do with it?

Nothing good, that is certain. And... Lee Linjun was on board. SSR is headless right now. Now, SSR is not Unity Group, but they were rather helpeful at times.

Yeah. And ultimately they're there for the same thing, trying to reestablish safety across the planet. If

It'll be alright. No matter what happens with SSR now, we'll do whatever we can to help. The same goes for everyone else.
