... So. On one hand we have a bunch of rather overt megalomaniacs, on another you have a bunch of liars and psychos with a raging misogynist in their ranks, on another you have remnants of a group fighting long after their leader wanted them to stop, a Decepticon, and a woman who cloned a dog girl.
I don't want to make light of what happened out there. They played us like a fiddle and Captain Linjun, stuckup that he is, paid deep to get us out of there. Might've even paid with his life.
But... if they wanted an anti-SSR or anti-Unity Group... they're probably more than overqualified for the anti-unity bit. We've given them all bloody noses before, and taken down threats bigger than any of them. They're not making this alliance up because they feel loyal or trust everyone else in it, maybe not even like each other, but they joined up because Miss Bernal made that big speech and they can't go it alone. That VIPER lady even said something to that extent too.
And you know, maybe I'm wrong...
But call it a women's intuition.

If we can hold our own in the short term, then the Protocol'll fall apart just as fast as it formed. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

That's why this is worrying. No matter how strong or weak individual members of this Cambio Protocol are, we really can't afford to underestimate them.

But we haven't come as far as we have, and stopped as many threats as we have, just to lose to a bunch of nutjobs.

The Captain didn't come up with that but he'd reiterate it to the rest of the team whenever we'd do a sabotage mission. Being too greedy or trying to force an outcome can have the opposite effect.
Besides, with how many automated machines they use, not many front-linte fighters to incite jealousy in.

They're nutjobs with support from at least one country. And who knows how many more. What will happen if the next time there's a situation to respond to, it will turn out to be another Malaysia? Another trap.

When Albhard and I were assigned to investigate Shu Shirakawa's death, we had orders to engage and destroy the Neo Granzon if it was still functioning. Practically suicide considering what it took to beat it the first time and that it would be just the two of us in modified Gespensts.
Still, we took that mission willingly. And we would've figured out a way to do it, somehow. Guess we lucked out though that it never came to that.

Still... in the end it came down to not falling victim to defeatest thinking. There's a difference between respecting a powerful target and thinking nothing you can do can stop it. Albhard and I would've found a way with the Neo Granzon. And we'll find a way to take down the Cambio Protocol.
