[1] [Mingle/Interact] [Kliiment, Peola, Cennetig]
Its finally time for Peola's Wedding and the Unity Group has been invited! The party is as lavish as one would expect from that of a royal family and lo and behold they managed to find an island to hold it on. Somehow it looked like something out of a story book with a good time to be had by all...
Yet while there were many a noble cheerfully discussing the ceremony to come, many would know just how far from story book this wedding truly is.

"Well of course I would be chosen to wed the Princess. After all, the Haanradts family are the noblest of the noble houses. My so called rivals never stood a chance in the end, especially when the decision fell to the King's Council after my wife to be was struggling oh so hard to make a choice... not that there was much of one to make."
"After all... who else could compare? Surely not whatever riff raff the Princess had supposedly claimed to have chosen. Ah, but either way when the time comes she can leave all the thinking to me. She is quite fortunate to have a man of my station, breeding and intelligence be her intended."
Kliiment was being insufferably smug the whole way through, letting out a chuckle that one could classify as irritatingly stuck up. Peola herself had secluded herself off to the side with Salwah and Monika... and a small contingent of guards in full armor bearing either cloaks or surcoats of red and black keeping any nobles from pestering her. While resigned, she wasn't despondent... doing her best to keep her head held high.
The haughty noble wasn't the only familiar face in attendance as well it seems, as there were a group of people who looked curiously mismatched from the noble finery of the other members of the Magnolys contingent.

"It seems that our paths cross again quiaff? Admittedly under less than ideal circumstances. Peola Nelfess should have been granted a chance to contest against this in a trial. This... whole affair is a sham and dishonors her greatly."
Cennetig has a look of disgust as he glances at the bragging Kliiment before returning his attention to you. He promptly had a hand on his shoulder from one of his companions.
"Perhaps so Cennetig, but sunborn matters are sunborn matters. And it is somewhat rude to speak ill of our hosts."
"It is still dishonorable, doubly so because Kliiment is a dishonorable cur and triply so because he clearly had caused this by no doubt unscrupulous means. I will not hold my tongue on this matter and if I am to be removed, then let Kliiment do so himself."
Cennetig simmers in his seat while the other Brotherhooder that spoke rolled their eyes.

"Not enjoying the party? Well... I really do hope you aren't too fond of it."
Ourania has a playful and secretive little smile on her face as she regarded the members of the Unity Group she had the servants carry messages to meet her here. People close to Peola and those most against the wedding in particular.
"There's a tiny little detail that can bring it all to a stop and it'd make my father and quite a lot of people angry as well. It would be quite messy. Buuuut, you'll definitely get what you want. Are you interested-"
A cough rings out from the shadows as a figure carefully steps out of the shadow of a nearby tree, something that makes Ourania pout unhappily.
"Did you have to ruin the surprise Harunn?"

"Sorry little sister... but I think Peola would appreciate it if we hurried along and we're short on time as it is."
The young man inclines his head with a small grin.
"Harunn Nelfess at your service. I hope Ourania didn't cause too much mayhem getting you all here.

The Ceremony has begun and the people have gathered. From the nobles who have accompanied the King to Earth to members of the Brotherhood to delegates, diplomats and other assorted well wishers from Earth and beyond who wished to have a chance to be present to rub elbows with extraterrestrial royalty. The Ceremony itself taking place on the deck of the King's vessel not too far from the grounds where the celebration took place. It all looked so very nice, orderly and peaceful.
Then the large doors that led back into the ship were all but flung right open with great and echoing force that made many present jump in surprise just as the King reached the last word of 'If there are any who object to the union between the the two bright souls who stand before me, speak now or forever hold your peace' .

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS INTERRUPTION?!"

[Ken is loosely dressed for formality. In so much that, well, he's dressed more like an actual ninja. Perhaps such is formal wear to his kind?]
So what's this 'little detail'?
From:
no subject
"I'm guessing that Peola's doing this entire thing thinking that I'm not exactly healthy enough to take the throne and that father used that and the whole 'duty as a member of the royal family' talk to convince her."
Harunn puts his fist through the tree he was hiding behind previously, shattering a good chunk of it and dusting his knuckles off.
"My father really should give all his children a bit more credit. Burned out the last of the ki poisoning mother dearest left me with and missing eye and leg aside I'm definitely in good health."
From:
no subject
[Ken briefly tries to study the prince's form, but putting that aside...]
Though he might still claim that they need someone married as heir apparent; don't suppose you have a counterargument for that ready?
From:
no subject
Could it be, Peola's brother?!
[A little slow on the uptake, Izuru.]
From:
no subject
"In the flesh... well. Most of it anyway."
"Honestly? Right now the claim's only valid as long as it has the King's support. Right now my father's got the idea that if he finds a reason for Peola to stay in the Palace she'll be safe and if she's queen she'll hardly be throwing herself into fights. And if at the same time he can keep the nobles from whipping themselves up into a frenzy and disrupting the kingdom with their squabbling then its good in his opinion."
"Unfortunately that plan has my sister both coerced into marriage and having to deal with a complete idiot she detests. Lets... not get into how completely unrealistic it is as well. So we're going to have to convince my father to change his decision."
Harunn pauses for a while.
"And by that I mean beat him up in a fair fight. Normally he can dismiss challenges by right of rule but get him angry enough and he'll either accept the it before he realizes the reasoning behind it or he'll be the one to throw down the gauntlet."
"And with me, Peola and Ourania throwing backing the call and him making it in front of a lot of people? There's no way he'll be able to take it back either."
From:
no subject
Not that I won't go along with it, but still.
From:
no subject
[Izuru recalls his meeting with the king.]
Or does he?
From:
no subject
"Considering that there's a reason that regicide in Magnolys is referred to as 'suicide for idiots' it definitely won't. Thankfully since the challenge isn't a battle to the death, father won't be throwing everything he has at us... just most of what he has. Royal Guard accompanying him notwithstanding."
Harunn couldn't help but grin a little at Izuru's inquiry.
"My father's actually quite a lot more hotheaded than people think he is. He's just good at catching himself most of the time... as for actually getting him that angry... I don't suppose you have someone who is a professional at irritating people do you?"
From:
no subject
[Ashe grins rather dangerously as she comes into the group]
Honestly, if nobody did anything I was going to challenge him myself before the ceremony ended.
From:
no subject
...So do we want to this dramatically, or...?
From:

"As for pissing your dad off..." Dido chews her lip. "It's not just name-calling; we need to hit his sense of doubt and uncertainty. Does he, say, fret about whether he's a good ruler compared to his ancestors?"
From:
no subject
"Well now you've got a crowd with you. I'm sure handling father would be easier that way."
He gives Ashe a grin before turning his attention to team Sol.
"With that many eyes on us we may as well push the theatrics. A little bit of showmanship can push the odds to our favor. As for that other thing its less our ancestors more his older sister. She was Queen for a short while before she passed on without heirs. Aunt Verana was one of those once in a millennium rulers and Father spent a lot of time trying to live up to her... and while he managed to a degree he still has his doubts. Between that and his recent disasters in parenting I'm thinking there are probably a lot of barbs you all can come up with."
From:
no subject
And I did get him pretty angry last time, and I wasn't even trying, just telling him a couple truths. So you can sign me on the annoyance brigade as well!
From:
no subject
[Izuru opens up his sketchbook. In addition to usual Izuru-quality drawings, there is some text scribbled there.]
If you want to annoy people, I actually made notes.
From:
no subject
"Cathedrals are even better. The height gives everything a bit more flair with the right light, especially with the landing. We'll make do though... the ceremony's on the deck of Father's ship and the doors leading to it look like they could make enough noise when they get kicked open."
Harunn looks over the sketchbook, nodding to himself before giving Izuru a grin and a thumbs up.
"Well I'd have to say my father won't know what hit him when the time comes!"
He glances off into the distance where the party was happening, growing a bit more serious.
"Lets just hope the same won't be happening with us in the fight."
From:
no subject
She frowns thoughtfully. "So...after we annul this marriage and befriend your dad with violence, what happens then? Does everything go back to normal, with you as the heir and Peola as the tabloid child?"
Dido's mouth twists. "Because let me tell you, this whole incident has brought a lot of societal corruption out of the woodwork. And that needs to change."

[An elegant and definitely not awkward lady in a fancy gown moves in closer, addressing Cennetig.]
Yet...
What may be done? Your voice of discontent falls on deaf ears...
From:
no subject
"At this point the most that can be done is to offer support to whatever decision the Princess makes. I am hoping greatly she will regain her warrior spirit and fight against this decision once more. If so I will offer my aid to her as a fellow warrior."
Cennetig pauses for a moment, squinting his eyes as he regards the most certainly unawkward lady.
"Your voice and face seems most familiar... we have met quiaff?"
From:

From:

"Indeed. In fact a great many things now that I have been informed should have been her choice from the very start rather than being left in the hands of.... THOSE!"
Cennetig points... at a shrubbery. One of his fellows calmly redirected his pointing hand to a gaggle of nobles airily discussing the wedding.
"Look at them. Riding off the honor of glory won by their ancestors yet earning none for themselves! A shameful display! At the very least they should attempt to be like their more worthy counterparts!"
The hard headed brotherhooder manages to point at a significantly more impressive group of nobles. Their discussion was less enthusiastic and at least one of them was casting a baneful look towards Kliiment and his entourage.
From:

[Sielje decides to ignore the shrubbery, even if it was an insidious looking one.]
From:

"Indeed! Surely with enough numbers the King's opinion can be swayed once more!"

[Brye doesn't technically address Kliiment, but she speaks up loud enough for him to hear her clearly.]
Especially brag about things that fell into his lap and he never had to work for.
From:

[Rani herself is next to Brye, trying to look inconspicuous.]
You shouldn't pick a fight either way.
From:

Though, he does seem kinda insecure... do you think he's bothered by my words?
From:
no subject
Maybe people are just arrogant where he comes from.
From:
no subject
I know this type, people who think they can look down on others because... something. Often it's something they didn't even had a hand in getting.
From:
1 - Peola Group/Mingle
On one hand, Kliiment seems obnoxious, even for her, and Cennetig's ranting brings about concern. So, she stands where she feels safest - that is, close to Peola's corner, with her group of guards, Salwah and Monika.]
...
[Along with her is a sleek, black automobile that somehow isn't causing trouble despite being in the middle of the event - actually, it's Morte in another inconspicuous disguise. A glass of martini sits on his roof for some reason.]
One could cut the tension here with a scythe.
[Even with no visible eyes other than a moving light bar, one can tell that he's looking in Kliiment's direction.]
Then again, those who think too highly of themselves tend to instill doubt in others...
What do you think would happen with him as a planet's ruler?
From:
no subject
Nothing good.
[Peola did her best to tune the bragging out.]
I'd have to spend most of my time making sure he doesn't do anything stupid and fixing anything he does get through.
[The bitter note her voice took at the last and her grimace said it all.]
And this is the man the nobles shortsightedly chose for their benefit.
From:
no subject
You're saying you will retain some power within his administration then?
[That would at least be some good news.]
Still... what concerns me the most is that he and those nobles may see Earth as a future target for some silly reason.
In the process of helping you fight for your freedom of choice, the Unity Group has given him much trouble after all.
[There is a nod of agreement from Fyra on that.]
From:

[Peola maintained her expression as she pondered the ramifications and possibilities. Not exactly her territory with this kind of thinking even if she was raised and taught to do so.]
I'd overrule them as much as I can, but I wouldn't be able to keep independent ventures from happening. At most I'd be able to keep Magnolys as a whole back... but I'd expect a handful of idiots to still be able to do damage.
And unfortunately it would take something going extremely wrong to be able to make a call for the Royal Court to allow me to reduce just how much power he'd be able to throw around as well...
