"He's losing...!"

"Give him..."

"Move him to the medical...!"

"Cut open his suit..."

Ken manages to save Walt from being a monster chow, but Walt is still uncouncious from the explosion of his Genoace. The medical team is carting him as soon as he arrives.

"Holy shit! What is that..."

But as soon as they cut open his pilot suit...

Eyes.

Many eyes are staring from the flesh of Walt's left arm. Staring at the medical team, staring at the walls, staring at everything. The eyes are darting around jerkily in their sockets, blinking, looking left and right, up and down.

Needless to say, Walt moves straight to quarantine.

You might, or might not see all of these happening, since everything happens right on the hallways.

...

A few days later, you can see him sitting in his medical gown at Alhambra's medical bay cafeteria, staring intently at a cup of coffee, his body full of bandages. His left arm is wrapped like a mummy.

You might notice that other patients and staffs are trying to sit far away from him, leaving him a hole in the middle of a crowd.

Greet him?

Hey, you look pretty good for someone who's unit got blown up, I think they should have you up and raring to go if you're up for it.

[Tarisa approaches speaking rather openly before taking a seat across from Walt.]

In all seriousness it sounds like you guys found the one thing that might just be creepier than the BETA and did a fair job of kicking it's ass back into that black dome they came flopping out of so I think you did a great job of it and if anyone's freaked out by a minor thing like that then you should just forget about them.

I do wish we'd been in that fight though, sounds like it was a hell of a brawl but with the adjustments being done on our units and the finalizing of the paperwork to clear the red tape it seems like it might be a little while yet but they outta look out when we are clear, I'm sure we'll have something worked up by then that will trump whatever it is that they do and we'll really stick it to them.

Bah, just forget about those jerks who are freaked out about this. As far as I'm concerned unless you actually hurt someone or do something to compromise a mission then what happened to you is just like every other piloting injury. What if exposure to the dome had been caustic or burned your suit or human flesh, would they have been freaked out by it then? [Tarisa's voice projects out to the surrounding crowd, her attempt to shame them somewhat evident.]

If they insist on poking and prodding you they better damn sure be looking for a way to help you not just that they've got a fascinating new guinea pig or we may have to have an informal introduction to the joys of TSF piloting.

Well as I said I'll give them that it's an entirely new sort of condition and that fixing it is going to be difficult but I'm sure we'll figure it out. I mean it isn't impacting your ability to pilot, use the arm, or spread further along your body is it?

Well as an Eishi you kind of wind up that way eventually. I'd be surprised if anyone in the Argos flight was seriously put off by what happened besides maybe Yuuya. Anyone who's seriously fought the BETA and seen what they do is not typically put off by much. We may get a little sad if we get introspective but as long as your alive you can make something better of what your given.

Watching our friends get pulled out of their cockpits and ripped apart by Tank class or recovering what's left of their bodies after a grappler or destroyer classes have had their way with a TSF really takes the squeamish out of you.

[Pausing for a minute Tarisa begins to laugh at Walt's joke.] Well I guess that's a new way to keep things in perspective. Always have to look on the bright side then? [Tarisa seems particularly glad that Walt seems to be cheering up despite what happened.]
