[Fyra is out on a public mountain trail not too far from the resort - mostly to see the sights. She requires an escort, and you've been chosen to tag along so she doesn't get into trouble.
As you begin to head back and pass by a healthy cypress specimen near the path's starting point, the Rider stops to help pick up a stuffed animal that fell out of a mysterious young girl's hands.
Said girl is dressed in traditional Japanese garb, which is quite unusual in itself...]

...
"Thank you, miss...! I-"
[The girl is initially delighted to receive her toy back, but that quickly changes when she gazes up at the person who assisted her. Her eyes widen, and that joy is quickly replaced by an expression the UG would have seen many times on the faces of helpless civilians and hostages: fear.]
"I-I have to go now..."
[She immediately turns around and hurriedly walks away. And before your very eyes, she vanishes...
This does not escape Fyra, either.]

...?
[However, there is another besides you who has just witnessed this: an off-road motorbike stopped on the dirt. That being none other than a certain steed awaiting his master, only in a much less conspicuous form.
When the coast is clear, he recites a particular line - one that he has recently learned of.]

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him... this is what most believe these days, isn't it?
It has been like this on our outings since Arabia. I wonder...what did that girl see?

...
[In the backdrop, the cypress tree's branches sway from a sudden breeze...]

I have to touch people, and the impressions can be very vague. Even then, sometimes...Well, it can be painful to make contact with the dead.

That's unfortunate. While not hostile, a number of the ones we have encountered seemed...disturbed...restless.
It would be reassuring to know what they are after, or if they are simply stuck replaying events over and over...
...Have you tried it before? Making contact with the dead.

...I don't think it would be that bad with most people. If it will help them, I can try.

They seem to be ordinary people.
When either Morte or I attempt to approach them...it leads to a situation like the one you just witnessed.
Admittedly, we have little understanding of this subject due to our circumstances.

Have...spirits, been appearing around you?

Only at times. I suspect that has something to do with the locations we visit.
