[Frontdated to a day before the mission takes place]
No matter where on Earth you are, the ground underneath your feet rumbles. The sensation lasts for a mere moment, but not too long after everyone is called for an emergency briefing. And this time, the situation really calls for it.

"Is this being recorded? Good. We may not have much time so I'll keep it short. Did you listen to Fleet Commander Britai's warning about the Bodolza Main fleet coming? ESUN did, and built a Grand Cannon to deal with it. Shame they couldn't predict everything..."
The World Eater, Unicron, arrived in the Earth Sphere. The newly christened Grand Cannon fired upon it - but its firepower was not enough to penetrate Unicron's thick armor, and the giant retaliated. The rumble was from the cannon and everything in its vincinity being destroyed.
And THEN the Zentradi arrived - with the Boddole Zer class flagship (the small dots around it are normal Zentradi ships). They folded in nearby Unicron, probably using its massive form as some kind of beacon.

"The good news is Zentradi and Unicron are hostile to each other. The latter destroyed any of the former that got too close, and even with that, even now they keep on trying to attack it. The bad news is that each of these threats is still individually powerful enough to end all life on Earth - or Cybertron. Yes, that planet is where Unicron's heading. The Zentradi are spreading around, but their main force is slowly but surely making its way towards Earth. Everyone who has a space fleet is mobilizing theirs, setting up a shared defensive perimeter as we speak."

"Let's consider the defensive fleet. It is, optimistically speaking, a hundred times smaller than the Zentradi force. I don't see it lasting very long, hmm? What we need is a sneaky, clever plan that targets weaknesses of our enemies - both Zentradi and Unicron. Commander Britai, a minute of your time?"
A handy screen begins a transmission - the Britai fleet is allied with humanity, and a connection is established to its flagship.

"Yes. As I informed your leaders already, standard Zentran procedure when the acting commander is lost is to withdraw. Moreover, Bodolza's soldiers had almost no exposure to Culture. These are their weak points, but exploiting them will be extremely dangerous."

"Exactly the kind of operation Unity Group is needed for, then..."

"Unicron... in all my years, I didn't think that old bit of hokum would have ever been true."
"There's no word from Cybertron about the Matrix being found either..."
[The Autobots-in-Exile... or at least those that could afford to physically be present were there and looking immensely troubled. While the Cybertronians had tales of Primus their creator, many had simply passed off his eternal enemy as superstitious nonsense and had long disregarded it. And here after who knows how many millenia, the Chaos Bringer had resurfaced.]
"Unicron... another enemy. Simply bigger. Me Grimlock want to know. You all... have plan for dealing with it?"
[The Dinobot refused to be intimidated by the odds, simply regarding Britai and the Unity Group Commanders.]

"... Unicron's old. Older than us as a race. The legends said that it was Primus' worst enemy and when he drove it away into the dark it took a lot out of him and what was left became Cybertron."
[Kup's head lowers a moment, shadows falling over his optics as he kept going.]
"It was something beyond evil. Unicron wanted... it wants the end of everything and that if it returns... it'd be our darkest hour. Other than that its all the same... bringing death and destruction. Maybe the Matrix might have been able to do something... give us some ideas from the past... I'm not sure. But..."
[No Matrix and no Prime to use it.]

"Instead we need to focus on the immediate future. The Grand Cannon's battle against Unicron, short as it may be, provided us with information. Enough information to make educated guesses."

"But what about a smaller object, hmm? All combat data we've taken so far indicates he has little to no defense against something smaller than a battleship. Of course it can't hurt him either - unless we find an opening, and blow him up from the inside. Strike the most vulnerable area, the brain or equivalent. And if there's no opening..."
"Then we'll make one."

Their outlines are blurry, but clearly distinguishable. Both Unicron and the Boddole Zer shine above, two new stars of extinction in Earth's night sky.
Dido raises her eye from the eyepiece. "Fudge-skittles," she breathes. "Guys, you gotta see this!"
