[A while after Hibiki learned more about Kanade... SOMEONE is paying Genjurou a visit.]
EXCUSE ME!

Agh, Hibiki... what's going on?

Genjuou-san... teach me how to fight, please!
You want me to teach you?
Yes! I figured you'd surely know some amazing martial arts or something!
"... Very well. But my training regime is very strict."
[He said yes! He actually said-!]
"Yes! Thank you!!"
"By the way, Hibiki, are you into action movies by any chance?"
"E-eh?"
[1]

[Hibiki's training regimen is easy enough to see evidence of. She's in the gym, dressed up in a yellow jumpsuit and standing in front of an old tv playing a kung fu movie.]
Wu-ta!
[She punches out, in time with the man on the screen! In fact, she's doing her best to try to emulate his every action. Every punch, kick, and-]
NOT MY MATCH!
[-Even kiai.]
[2]

-Piece of cake!
[At the mess hall of Sakihama, she's got more than twice her usual amount of rice AND pudding AND now cake too. Training's given her quite the appetite, and she's already scarfing things down as soon as she finds a seat.]
[3]
[But it's not all just cosplay and battle mimicry. One can see Hibiki out training in the city too, working a heavy boxing bag with Genjurou looking on. Still, her strikes have barely been able to make it budge.]

You're doing it wrong. Your fists ought to fly like hammers smashing the thunder of the bolt that struck you.

I don't understand a word of that... but I'll give it a shot!
[Hibiki's attention shifts back to the punching bag... and with one furious right straight, she sends it flying, the branch it had been hanging from snapping off from the tree as if it were nothing!]

... It worked!

[While Hibiki trains, Neptune is sitting a safe distance away and enjoying some popcorn.]
The guy giving you this training knows his stuff, though. This movie's great!

[She nods, but doesn't break up her rhythm. A swift roundhouse-into-axe kick comes and Hibiki follows it in real life!]
And after it Genjurou-san said we can watch boxing movies too!

Which ones?

But that's why I'm trying really hard to learn as much as I can though, and Genjurou-san's been a huge help!

I mean, I've never seen it in person...and he seems pretty chill.

When he mentioned the action movies back then I just thought it was something he liked, I didn't know he used them to train too!

I don't even know where to start.

[Really close to Izuru's head as he was going through a corner. Sure is a day full of surprises, here.]
It really flied!

[Oh wait, that nearly hit him!]
I-izuru! What're you doing here?!

Looks like you're training really hard...

[She's seen more action movies in the past few days than she ever thought possible. Not just high budget ones either, there's been plenty of low-budget flicks frankenstein'd together with additional footage spliced in.]

Action movies! Genjurou-san has a lot of them and we fight along with the characters in them, like we are them! I thought it was weird at first but it's really working!

Action... movies?

I knew it! Asagi and others laughed at the idea, but it was true all along!

Umm...
I guess it was a misunderstanding.

[Wasting time on learning things that wouldn't help with training certainly could be disheartening.]

It sure was educational, though.

...That's...you can't just learn martial arts by watching movies, you know.

Want to join?

[Jen's not quite as good at matching the dude on the screen; she doesn't keep her stance quite as low, for one, but her punches are just as quick. Also: no kiai.]
Are you sure you want to train like this?

[She nods along as she jabs out as well!]
Genjurou-san's amazing... he's strong enough to stop Tsubasa-san's swords with his hands! If not for needing the Symphogear to make the Noise vulnerable, he could probably beat any of them on his own!

...What?

[Genjurou's strength, Ryouko's energy barriers... heck, she's heard stories about Tsubasa's manager being some kind of super-ninja!]
