1. [General mingle/volunteer]
The battle may be over, but there's a lot of work to be done. Good news! The entire 50,000 person population of South Ataria made it to shelters, and are now being safely extracted. Bad news: The Prometheus and Daedalus, two large UN spacy warships that were in the ocean around South Ataria, have had their entire crews killed by the sudden shift from south pacific oceans to deep space. They were naval ships, not space ships, after all.

So there's a lot of work to be done, some grim, some happy. Happy: rescuing survivors and getting them moved onto the Macross. Grim: Clearing the corpses out of the Prometheus and Daedalus so they can be docked with the Macross and their materiel taken aboard. Happy: rebuilding Macross City inside the Macross. Whatever you end up helping out with, there's a hell of a lot to be done! It'll get easier with time as the citizens of Macross City start to help out, but at first there's an almost insurmountable amount of stuff to be done.

Also, the ship is currently parked on an island, floating in space. That's probably worth noting too.

2. [Talk to the bridge crew; specify if you want, otherwise random.]
Being military people and all, you can probably catch one of the bridge crew at some time and pester them for answers about the Fold Drive and...well, everything that just happened. That said, they're all pretty busy now, so it'll be hard to find them off duty.

[Kagura is silently helping out with the cleaning of bodies. Being space capable and very strong, she can get into the places that broke down with the sudden change in pressure and retrieve bodies from there.

There's something kind of eerie about a robot with a large insignia that reads GRAVEYARD retrieving bodies and laying them for identification and care by the crews in absolute silence, though.]

I mean, the ship fired, then its got a fold drive, and... was there never any testing? No... simulations?

Well, there's not a lot of testing you can do when the aliens who made it are gone...


They didn't exactly leave a manual, you know.


The chief engineer said something about the earth's gravity and atmosphere throwing us off-target, I think...

Well, given you were warping space and all, being farther from a potential distortion - like the mass of Earth - probably would've helped. Even if its not shooting a gun, if you're aiming for something, you've gotta properly account for all variables before pulling the trigger.

[Kei is on hand to help with the disaster relief as well. While she has been lucky enough to not be assigned to any of the truly horrifying jobs of sorting through the dead or taking care of anybody who is wounded, it is still a rather somber occasion as she finds herself guiding survivors to temporary housing.]

[Red Five moves around as its core only - basic humanoid form without any weapons or equipment. Izuru shows the way to the civilian survivors, but is sometimes forced to use his AHSMB's own hands to carry them to the destination.]

[Seeing Izuru work like that, Kei puts a bit more effort into directing survivors who show up on foot. She doesn't quite look like she's comfortable with the job, but at least she tries to smile reassuringly.]

Please, just follow Red-5's directions. It is there to make sure someone can show the way without getting lost in the crowds.

[When there's a free second, Izuru suddenly talks on a private line.]

Maybe. Or perhaps have asked to have one assigned to you. But we'll just have to have to make do with what we have.

[Kei fell silent for a moment, looking at the seemingly endless line of people in front of her.]

There are so many of them.

And they still need help putting their lives back together after losing their homes like that.

You won't have to. We will face them to defend the Earth at some point or another.

I prefer to be called General. I am a soldier first and foremost, not a politician. But any title will do.

Yes, it is about the giants. I know we are in the middle of a rescue operation, but if their fleet is spread out, it is very possible they might have some forces near our current location. We must not let them catch us in a vulnerable position.

We've still got plenty of Valkyrie pilots on standby, and the engineers are working on getting the Macross to dock with the Prometheus and Daedalus. Their extra hangars will help us deploy units more quickly, and we do have the TSEN device operational if we need reinforcements...

[A reassuring hand on the shoulder, though the imagery is a bit different when Gloval's shorter than Heph.]

...Don't worry. We're doing what we can.

That is reassuring. I trust in your work, captain. Let me know if you find yourself short on hands. The Scaraber is not a ceremonial unit, good for occasional combat and nothing else; it is meant to be used.

...One more thing. Some of the systems used on Macross... I wasn't aware Earth possesses this kind of technology.

Hmm...They could use your help on the inside, with the construction efforts. It'd be good for the civilians to see some helpful aliens, too.

...Well, the Macross is a rebuilt alien vessel. We can't claim to have made all of its systems, or even understand them...as you've probably seen...

Used for combat, not construction. This is a work better given to my subordinates. When they come in through TSEN, I can coordinate them.

The folding system, captain. And the antigravity engine. While similar to TSEN and various floating systems at a first glance, there are noticable differences. It is a pity we cannot look at either anymore, at this point...

A certain Rock-Star Jaeger pilot stops by the command deck, his right arm in a sling.

"Commander Misa Hayase?" He says, looking around the bridge and trying to spot her. "Ranger Beckett reporting. Could I talk to you real quick?"

Ranger, I'm on duty. Can't you go bother someone else?

Yancy holds up his hands...well, hand singular in defense.

"I don't mean to get into your hair, ma'am. I just need to ask two things, and I'm gone."

He pulls out a small data chit, and offers it.

"First, could I put in a request for five technicians, to help haul Gipsy Danger through the TSEN and back to Earth smoothly? And second–"

Also in his hand is a card with a phone number on it.

"–Call me?" He says with a sly grin.

Five technicians...We're short-staffed as it is, but if you can get them from the PPDC's stocks, it's approved. And as for your second request-

[She takes the card, reads it, then tears it into several tiny pieces right in front of Yancy.]

Go bother someone else, Ranger. I'm sure there's plenty of girls aboard who'd just love to hang out with you.

[Sniggering and a few whistles can be heard from the back part of the bridge. And maybe an "oh, snap!" from Kim.]

Yancy recoils from Misa's decisive rejection like a whipped puppy.

"Okay...got the memo." He blurts out, then composes himself. He stiffly salutes.

"Thank you for the request approval, Commander Hayase. I'll go cry–er, I'll go excuse myself now."

He turns and walks away, stumbling over the lip of the hatch as he goes.

Russel has been moving to rescue those could be they downed pilots whose machines had remained sealed or civilians in the shelters the ships on the other hand? He'd not seen anything quite this horrible in his life before. So he'd been focusing on the living for the moment the dead can wait a bit and he didn't think the dead would mind a focus on the living. Right now he's tracking a locator signal from a downed Valkyrie which is indicating the pilot's likely alive in need of pickup...
