1. [Almost immediately after the mission in Brussels, Eva is sitting on a seat in the shuttle. There's hardly any sign of emotion on her face. She's just...there, staring at the opposite wall.]
...What just happened?
2.[Much later, Eva can be found at that wall of remembrance, sitting with her back alongside it. Above her there is a new picture of Ren; in her hands is a pistol. She's been crying, though she isn't now.]

...I'm sorry. [Her voice is a lot thinner than usual.]

[Eva's own voice trails off, cracking. She's staring right at Alex, tears in her eyes.]
She'll be back...right...?

It was strange and magical enough that I can't say for sure, but I believe she actually died. But I hope that's not the case.

[Eva gives out a heart-rending sob, and breaks. She buries her face in her hands, tears streaming down her face. Her sobs are loud and pained, mixed in with the occasional scream of outright rage. Why? Why didn't she realize it? Why didn't she stop it? Where did she fail, where did she go wrong, why did it have to turn out this way?
The sorrow works as a mental key, opening a door deep inside Eva's mind. The change is immediate.]

Eva is seven and she cradles a dog in her arms as it breathes its last, its neck horribly broken. She botched the killing, and it will spend the next twenty minutes whining and trying to escape its master's embrace as it dies. Her orders were obeyed.
Eva is twelve and she aims down the sights of her rifle at one of the boys. He begs and pleads with her not to do it, to remember their friendship, to stand up against the system, but she does not. The fire command is given and Eva obeys.
Eva is fourteen and she is running through ankle-deep blood in a world gone mad. The people she is to guard rip and tear at each other with any weapons they can find, her enemies bombard the base with guns and lasers and missiles, a raging inferno devours her home and she must flee for her life from the gleaming metal beasts responsible to the surface where there is an explosion and something hits her head and everything goes black...
The visions, not bound by normal time, move by in fast forward, loop, and repeat. And repeat, and repeat, while back in the shuttle Eva quivers and breaks out into a cold sweat.]
