The difference being that they're going to be far more difficult to handle since we don't exactly have a way to keep track of where they go.
Teleportation technology would probably eat up a large amount of energy meaning that any wake from it could be picked up on a sensor system tuned to it.
Magic? There isn't exactly a hard counter or detection system for it. At least not to our understanding.
