[After a practice run, Ren leaves their unit's cockpit - and looks up, at the training TSF Fubuki and the sky above it.]
If I recall correctly, first generation TSFs had a pilot life expectancy of only 8 minutes. And that's with veteran pilots, who had a lot of experience using fighter jets. How regrettable...
But to think technology advanced so much since then! When cornered, humans are capable of pushing themselves to incredible limits. Individual persons, and humanity as a whole.
[Ren's gaze returns to the ground level. Still with that omnipresent smile, the horned person adds...]
However, I don't think that's always a good thing.
[2, aimed at people with (possibly offscreen) CR]
Heey!
[Already waving from a distance, a familiar face approaches.
And it looks like Ren got a new haircut. A change of style?]

What do you think?

It's certainly to blame for the Balmarians being so interested in us.

Admittedly contact we had was rather limited. And, not exactly friendly...

Thhbthhhht!
[A nod of approval and a thumbs up.]

See, you're not the only one who's trying out a new look.

It's not bad though, is it.

Just one thing to remember about.

You will live even after this is all over, Selena. Don't let vengeance consume you.

... But... you know...
Captain Symphonia had a saying like what you just said too. "The mission is the mission. Your life is your life." Something easy to live by before... but the mystery of Mission Doll's become a bit of both.

At least that's what I think.

But... I still need answers. Answers about why the Captain collaborated with Ingram, why he sent everyone -including himself- to their deaths. And I know he probably had good reasons, but if I don't try to find those answers...
[Her hands clench into fists.]

[Ren gestures, raising hands and waving them a bit.]
Just... don't make it a sole goal in your life. I saw people who were driven by desire to right wrongs done to them, or even by revenge.
And far too often when they succeeded, it looked like they had nothing else in life. They were empty.
[Ren's gaze falls and the smile takes on an apologetic, sheepish expression.]
I'm afraid one of those people were even in Unity Group.

[Ren briefly brushes their hair aside, to show off the earrings.]
Actually I got those a little while ago, when I had time to spend together with Mark, and we went shopping. But I'm wearing them only now.
And yes, I too can't wait to see his reaction!

And if ever gets widespread that the Captain was working with Major Plissken of all people...

[Ren's hands reach out for your shoulders and hold on to them in support.]
Your Captain was not the type of person to sell out others and put them in a trap, or the type to blindly work with an enemy and walk into a trap either. He had his reasons. We'll just have to discover them, okay? Then everything will make sense.
So we'll do it together. It's not just you, Elma, and Albhard. Everyone in Unity Group is involved now. It's everyone's duty to find out the truth.

I fear more for what others, who didn't know the Captain, might think... but gracias. Not having to go it alone... makes this all easier.
[Indeed. If it were just her and Elma? No doubt it would entail a lot of running and searching and dead-ends... hiding out in derelict colonies to rest and spending upwards of weeks in disguise to try to find answers. And who'd want that?]

You are very secretive for a reason after all.

So, what brought this on?

... Actually it was nothing like that. I wanted to try out a new look, just that. Change can be refreshing every once in a while, wouldn't you agree Sarah?

[Looks like Heph caught the implication.]
Although it does fit your personality, I suppose. Is there a specific reason for your image change?

Say, Hetepheres, how are matters of personal style and appearance like on Geb? Correct me if I'm wrong but most of your planet's people do not even have hair.
