If I recall correctly, first generation TSFs had a pilot life expectancy of only 8 minutes. And that's with veteran pilots, who had a lot of experience using fighter jets. How regrettable...
But to think technology advanced so much since then! When cornered, humans are capable of pushing themselves to incredible limits. Individual persons, and humanity as a whole.

However, I don't think that's always a good thing.

Just... don't make it a sole goal in your life. I saw people who were driven by desire to right wrongs done to them, or even by revenge.
And far too often when they succeeded, it looked like they had nothing else in life. They were empty.
[Ren's gaze falls and the smile takes on an apologetic, sheepish expression.]
I'm afraid one of those people were even in Unity Group.

Actually I got those a little while ago, when I had time to spend together with Mark, and we went shopping. But I'm wearing them only now.

Your Captain was not the type of person to sell out others and put them in a trap, or the type to blindly work with an enemy and walk into a trap either. He had his reasons. We'll just have to discover them, okay? Then everything will make sense.
So we'll do it together. It's not just you, Elma, and Albhard. Everyone in Unity Group is involved now. It's everyone's duty to find out the truth.

I fear more for what others, who didn't know the Captain, might think... but gracias. Not having to go it alone... makes this all easier.
[Indeed. If it were just her and Elma? No doubt it would entail a lot of running and searching and dead-ends... hiding out in derelict colonies to rest and spending upwards of weeks in disguise to try to find answers. And who'd want that?]
