(This is a post for people to react and mingle with each other)

[About a day after the mission under the Atlantic, suddenly multiple people in Unity group get a message with Kagura's GRAVEYARD identifier. Which is creepy, seeing how it's been a day since Kagura commited suicide. And indeed, the title of the message is "Last Will and message".

It's an automated message, written some time ago. If you click it open, this is what you'll find.

If this document has gone public, it means I'm dead. If I had to bet right now, probably from throwing myself down a paper shredder.

First. Colonel Suzu will be coming by to get some confidential documents I have stashed. She will know what the codes are. They include detailed notes on my findings on multiple subjects. Among others I will not disclose here, there is one I will. The fact that Mistletoes appear to not be man-made creatures at all. They were originally stolen, and nobody has any idea how they work. Well, I'm starting to, but I haven't had the chance to check my theories yet, and if this is public, I'm never getting it.

Moving on. Second. About belongings. I, Kagura, being of sound mind and about as sound of body as I have been for years, do hereby make the following dispositions with regards to my belongings:

My computer and all private data go to Colonel Suzu, to be shared by her as she sees fit.

Pilot Kei Kugimiya gets first choice of anything in my library not specifically mentioned in this document, both in here and at GRAVEYARD base Hadraniel. She's going to find some of those irregular tactical manuals useful to herd her pack of cats until this is over, and if she ends up going to medical school like she said, might find something she wants to keep for reference among the heap of medical texts I accumulated trying to understand how my physiology worked. She will also find an important envelope addressed to her on the third drawer of my desk.
[Inside which Kei will find a set of recommendation letters for all the Rabbit team for various universities, as well as another, smaller envelope that says "open ONLY if your command gives you trouble leaving" on it.]

Pilot Dido Sybil gets my regulation high caliber sidearm, to carry around in order to remind her that sometimes you have to stop pussyfooting around and shoot your fucking problems in the face, since I won't be there to slap her into shape anymore.

Inspector Edwards should direct his clueless behind to the large green folder on my office's shelf at Alhambra.
[In it is... Kagura's apparent progress at deciphering several pieces of writing showed to a certain fairy by Calvin. And she was making rather a lot of headway.]

Pilot Archibald Von Whiskers can help himself to my collection of soldier memoirs. Most of them are original handwrittens, and I'd rather someone who will actually read the things gets them than they end up on eBay.

Beyond that, Just split things as you want. Throw everything else I own that nobody wants to keep and is not GRAVEYARD property to a veteran charity.

Third. Messages and thanks.

I want to thank Colonel Suzu, for actually trusting me with command. I may have vindicated that trust a dozen times over, maybe, but someone had to give me the chance to prove myself a first time, and only she did.

I also want to thank General Hetepheres for helping me stay as close to sane as a cunt with issues can reasonably be in the madhouse that is Unity Group. Thanks for everything. You were more help than you probably suspect. Keep an eye on the pups for me.

Speaking of which, Hitachi, if you're reading this, I swear to wherever a thing like me ends up that if after all the trouble you got me into you simply stay a soldier all your life I WILL find some way to keep enough of my consciousness after death to strangle you while you sleep. You can do much more than simply kill some assholes. For that, there will always be things like me. Kugimiya, Toshikazu, I'm trusting you to keep him out of trouble.

To Sasha and Alexsis Kaidanovsky, thank you for your aid - whether it ends up being a success or not. I trust you will keep quiet about it even after I'm gone.

A last and most important note. To Selena Recital: if this line is still here, I never apologized for my mistakes getting your entire unit killed at that station. That kind of opposition shouldn't ever have got past me. I fucked up, and my fuckup cost you far too much. I make no excuses. For the damn nothing it's worth, I'm sorry.

Fourth: If I get a last wish, this is mine. I don't want any ceremony or anything of that sort. Write my name in the wall, and leave my decorations and mission stats there to be judged. A person's actions should be what remains of her, the good and the bad. In the unlikely case I actually left much in the way of remains, just give them back for study or toss them into space, I don't care.

Fifth and finally. I seriously doubt it, but just in case: Sergeant Allensby, if anyone is dumb enough to cry for me, your last orders before you are reassigned are to slap them. Give them a real reason to cry rather than caring about an asshole that has been dying for the last six years.

That is all. You may now continue with the ding dong song.

Major Kagura, Elite Graveyard Executor, out.

[This is then signed and notarized with all the proper forms after this long, rather informal declaration, with a last edition date of about a week ago.

Kagura kept her affairs in order - a will doesn't have a lot of mystique for someone who has lived years with the knowledge she could simply keel over tomorrow and so made a point to update her death measures often. She just made preparations assuming she could die at any time, and even joked about it in her usual sarcastic black humor fashion.]

Dido stares at the leather holster lying on the table in quiet. She draws the automatic pistol from it, ejects the cartridge, checks it, then slams it back in and flicks the safety on.

She raises her hand in a salute. "Yes, ma'am." She says to the air.

"..."

"...wait a sec!" Dido blurts out. "This gun's larger than Kagura: how the heck was she supposed to use it?"

[Entering the office of the dead major to look over her books and through her drawers is apparently a big step as Kei hesitates at the door, looking over the contents inside. Still, after a bit, she gets to work slowly looking over the assorted books like was said in the will, as well as finding the envelope. She doesn't open it yet, though.]

I wonder what this is...

Perhaps she used it in her suit. Or perhaps it was less of a weapon for her, and more of a symbol.

"Or maybe Graveyard's bureaucracy assigned her one regardless of utility," Dido chuckles soberly.

She rubs at her eyes. "...damn." She says. "She was a heck of a person, wasn't she?"

[Calvin was there as well, looking through the contents of the folder left to him specifically. In all honesty GRAVEYARD still spooked him greatly... but the Major did do him quite a good turn biting comments aside.]

Probably something helpful if we go on everything else she left.

Yes, I just wonder what...Perhaps some further message to all of us about the MJP program and our background?

Thank you Major. I will treasure it.

(OOC: Most likely by hiding it under a couch somewhere).

Might be? I'm not to sure what you and the Major might have discussed.

I imagine you can guess what she'd say about a program like that.

Selena's unit...?

[Armana's confused. Selena never mentioned a previous posting before.]

... What happened to Selena?
abugslife: (hey you can see her horns for once)

From: [personal profile] abugslife

She was a harsh and blunt person, one who easily judges people as worse than they deserve. The kind of person that is, for many, hard to like.

And yet she lived and died by the principles she believed in. She made the person she was, built the position she had, with her own hands. And then, instead of abusing that position for personal gratification, she used it to protect others.

Unity Group will not be the same without her.

It would involve a large amount of criticism, toneless, biting sarcasm and insulting people in general I think.

Yes. But she might also have something to say about how to live with coming from that background that she didn't feel like putting up in public in her will.
in_over_his_head: (Please take this seriously)

Someone like her? They'd gnaw their limbs off before having anything like that in writing for people to read out. But whatever she did, its probably going to be... interesting to say the least.

I meant things like practical advice or similar. She was never shy about that.
