Those who stop by the Sakihama Base's main hanger bay may notice a new addition to the mecha menagerie, techs repairing minor damage to it's back and right arm.

You may recognize the mecha in question– from the news, by reputation, or from your model kits: the Kaiju-slaying Jaeger, Gispy Danger!

At the base of the Mark III Jaeger, while welding sparks rain down over their heads, two brothers in matching bomber jackets clink their bottles of beer together.

Yancy Beckett looks up as you approach, and fishes out another bottle from the cooler. "Hey there! We were just celebrating our fifth battle; care to join us?"

Later on, you can see Yancy hanging out in one of the lounges, chewing on his lip as he works on a Rubix cube. Care to offer some advice?

Around the same time, you might run across Raleigh in the gym, sweat staining his tank-top as he runs through a set of staff forms, using martial arts techniques from all over the place. Surprise attack him?

[Yuuya approaches the brothers and takes the beer with a grateful smile and nod]

It's nice to have another pair of pilots from the US proper here. You guys used to be out of Alaska right? Not too far from the Yukon base if that's the case. You glad to get to a warmer climate or did you actually enjoy the cold up there?

Yep. Anchorage if you want to get specific.

[He takes a swig before wiping his mouth.]

And I'll tell you, the cold may feel like home... but the heat sure helps with the view.

[Raleigh nudges Yancy. Yeah they certainly had much more to look at out of the frigid cold.]

"Damn straight." Yancy says, nodding vigorously. "Give me miniskirts over parkas any day!"

He blinks at Yuuya's accent. "Is that an Alabama twang I hear?"

It's the Jaeger! Incredible!

[You have a fanboy running around Gipsy Danger now.]

[At this, Raleigh's going to nudge his brother in the shoulder.]

You know it. And Gipsy's got four confirmed Kaiju takedowns on her to boot.

"Damn straight!" Yancy confirms. "She's the finest Jaeger in the whole PPDC fleet!"

He crouches down a little to match the fanboy's height.

"You got a fine eye for robots, kid; what's your name?"

[Ever seen a mobile suit look starstruck? Well, you have now. While the red, oddly humanoid unit simply walks over and looks up at the Jaeger, something in its body language gives an oddly specific impression.

The mech stays there, looking up, while the fabric and artificial muscle at its front part and a hatch opens, a figure in a pilot suit stepping out and lowering herself on a descending ladder. The pilot removes her helmet as she approaches the pair, revealing a young redhead who, like her unit, is looking up at the Jaeger.]

"Well," Yancy says, giving his little brother a nudge and standing up to greet the two girls. "That's one way of putting it."

He slaps the blue gunmetal armor plating on the foot the Jaeger and grins. "I'm Yancy Beckett. This is my little brother Raleigh, and..."

He looks up at the red mecha, and blinks as he realizes it has, well, body language.

"...this is Gipsy Danger. We're all very pleased to meet you."

The Becketts. We're the Butlers - Cathy, and [jabs a thumb back at her mech] my little sister Liz. Likewise.

[Cathy offers a handshake. She's playing it cool, but it's easy to tell she's pretty pumped to meet two such celebrities. ...Or possibly just to be close to your Jaeger?

From behind, another voice speaks - directionally focused rather than booming out all through the hangar, so it sounds like it's coming from right around Cathy's distance, though from above. The mobile suit is stretching its arms up, and it's easy to imagine that if it could possibly do so safely it'd be up on tiptoes.]

[What looks like a very large suit of power armor walks by Yancy with long strides. It turns slightly when noticing the Rubik cube, though, slowing down a bit but not stopping completely.]

TRY TO MAKE ONE SIDE WITH A COLOR CROSS FIRST.

[The voice that comes out with passing advice, though, is robotic and clearly synthesized. Okay, so maybe not power armor]

"I see!" He exclaims after a moment. "This way you can align the colors into position without wiping out your previous work!"

He looks over his shoulder. "Thanks for the tip, Miss...?"

Yancy clinks his beer bottle against the blue armor plating of Gipsy Danger.

"So what's your name, kid? And do you pilot anything?"

"Garrod. Garrod Ran, and I've got a Gundam I guess I'm using over on another base. It's probably older than I am but..." He stares up at the Jaeger again.

"This probably took years longer, didn't it? It's huge. Hey wait, you fight those kaiju things, right? The huge monsters from the ocean? That's intense!"

Now the question is–does she like Jaegers for their rep, or for stocking her larder?

"Damn straight!" Yancy says with a grin. "Mark III Jaeger, with the latest synapse systems, an I-19 twin Plasmacaster system, and a state of the art Nuclear Vortex Turbine! The one and only Gipsy Danger!"

He holds up his bottle of bear as a toast. "So, I'm guessing you like giant robots, ma'am?"

[Raleigh is not alone in the gym. A tall, lanky and honestly somewhat scrawny looking teenage girl is there training as well. He might remember the face from a rather awkward, embarrassing conference not too long ago.]

Excuse me, I need to get past to get to those weights.

[Raleigh blinked at the voice and stopped midway through his set, tossing the staff into the air and catching it behind him with an easygoing grin.]

Huh? Oh sure I was just finishing up anywa-

[He blinked as something about Kei was poking at the side of his brain. He was sure he saw her before- oh right!]

Hey, weren't you on TV a while back? Yancy and I met one of your teammates I think.

You don't really appreciate how big it is until you get up close, do you?
