The evening after Halloween, while a spooky atmosphere still fills the air, Dido Sybil invites her friends, allies and workmates to a campfire cookoff in the little forest by Saikhama base.

Together, the party builds a merrily crackling fire in a stone-ringed pit. Hot Dogs and Marshmallows are toasted on sticks and harmonicas are played.

As the sun recedes behind the trees, and shadows gather around the flickering campfire, Dido pulls out a flashlight and shines its beam under her chin.

"Gather round, gather round," she proclaims in a gravely voice. "Don't stray from the light, for we're going tell spooky stories tonight–!"

In a more cheerful voice, she continues: "So who wants to go first?"

Eventually, it's Dido's turn. "As bizarre as it sounds," she says, "this is a true story."

Dido clears her throat. "When I was a child, I lived in a skyscraper, a mansion of glass and steel run by my mother. Back then, mom was always flying off to business meetings in the Sprawl or working late hours in the office, so I spent a lot of time alone. Whenever I got restless, I'd explore the skyscraper, wandering up and down stairs, poking my head into various rooms, riding up and down the dumbwaiters. The skyscraper was huge, and I rarely ever ran into anyone."

Dido pauses for effect. "One night, I was walking down a hallway...and realized I was being followed by a blue ball..."

[Tell your own spooky campfire tale here! It can be a classic spine-tingler featuring psychopaths who leave hooks dangling on car doors, or something from your character's childhood or unique folklore tradition?]
[Dated after "The Prioress"]

"Whoah, whoah! Chill out, dudes! I get it: hands off!"

While walking through the hanger, you look up to see Dido getting frog-marched out of a high security bay area that currently holds the Saber units, two security guards on each side gripping her shoulders and forearms. They roughly release her and walk off.

Dido stumbles, sets down the oil-can she was carrying, and dusts herself off. "Dammit. Why can't people take an honest bribe these days?"

Ask her what's going on?

After maintenance hours, when everyone's gone home for the night, you stumble across Dido lying on her back atop a set of boxes, taking puffs from...something burning inside a roll of paper.

She sighs, and then sits up, starring at the ground. "Dammit..." You hear her mutter. "This is what happens when you try and act like Mom..."

She spies you coming and hastily flicks the burning roll paper behind her. "Ah...Hey! Fancy seeing you here! How, uh, are you?""
*Walt watches a recording of the experimentees. Fine pilots, now turned into gibbering messes.*

"...I can see everything now."

"They're everywhere."

"I can see them even with my eyes closed!"

"They're staring at me. I can't rest... Please make them stop watching me..."

*The experimentee keeps on gibbering. Walt turns the video off. He involuntarily grabs his bandaged arm.*

"So they can see it too now." He says.
1.*You might just randomly meet him on the hall. Or you may have the unfortunate fate of sitting beside him in the newly opened bar. But now, Walt is grabbing and shaking your collar."

"Tell me. How can you manage to deal with it? How!?"

"This... how does this turn into this!? This can't be true. You must be lying. This place is... this place is..."

*Someone is staring at awe at a raw egg, then at a bowl of scrambled egg, then the raw egg again.  It drops the raw egg. It stares at the mess. The mess won't turn into scrambled egg, obviously.*

"And that! How does that turn into this!? It can't be!" It gnaws at a piece of bread while shouting toward a pile of flour.

Apparently someone promised to teach the waltspawn "the food's way" at one point. Who's that irresponsible person is unimportant. The important thing is that the still unnamed mysterious creature is in a kitchen now.

The mysterious being is holding its head, breathing heavily.

"This place..."

*Look who's appearing in Alhambra Base. It's Walt!*

Great to be back! It's been a while since I had a vacation.

...and apparently I still have a job. I don't know what to think about it.

Life is bittersweet.

So what did you see back then, Lieutenant Schmertz? Can you describe it?

It's... something. I can imagine it very clearly even now. I feel really stupid to never noticing it now. It's like seeing a magic eye picture. After you know how to see it, it's so obvious.  But to describe it... How can you describe the colour red? How can you describe sound to a deaf man?

My notes told me that you're complaining about unseen monsters in base. Do you still see them?

...yes. And monsters are the least annoying thing I see.

One last thing....

*Eliene grabs Walt's bandaged arm and unravel the bandages.*

*The eyes. They're still there.*

(Talk to either Walt or Eliene?)

The mysterious being is sitting in the cafetaria. After learning the purpose of the cafetaria, it seems to spend most of its time there now.

Currently it's facing a plate of chocolate pudding. It sniffs the pudding for a long time, clearly enjoying the smell...

Before pouring mayonaise, ketchup, and finally sprinkling it with peppers.

3.When not in the cafetaria, it sits in a corner in the hangar. Apparently it got it hand in some junks and a box of tools, and it's now playing with them, while watching the coming and going of the hangar. It's apparently building something?

(frontdated a few days)

1. The emergence ended with a quarantine for both Walt and the mysterious being. A few days later, Unity Group's scientists announce that both of them are clear from anything dangerous or contagious.

You can see Walt wandering in the base's infirmary in a hospital robe. What's he doing?

"I'm in despair! Automatic coffee dispenser had left me in despair!"

Yep, he's yelling in front of a coffee machine..

2. The men in white robes have declared that the mysterious being is harmless, and currently it's being held in a room somewhere in Alhambra. And they say it's clear for visit, in between their research on it.  Do you want to visit it?

It's a normal day. The sun is shining, the wind is blowing. Except for some reason Walt is staggering like a drunkard  on a hallway in Alhambra somewhere.

“I’m not feeling very well…” He mumbles, before falling to his knee and throwing up. He then clutches his bandaged left arm, looking obviously in pain.

“I’m… really not feeling very well at all.” He says, before collapsing to the floor. He screams in surprise, as the bandages that covers his left arm unravel and burst. Sickening, bulbous, tumorous growth expands rapidly with the many eyes that blink and roll in Walt’s left arm. The many eyes that some people might have forgot.

The fleshy bulbous growth bubbles and grows bigger and bigger as Walt continues to scream, and soon it grows bigger than his left arm, and bigger, and bigger. Until at last it’s clear that part of the growth molds into a shape. A human hand.

The hand then grabs the floor, as if it’s trying to claw itself out from Walt’s body. Soon, a head appears, then a torso, before a fully formed human being finally grows itself out of Walt’s left arm.

Finally, silence, as Walt finally stops screaming and fully collapse to the floor. And a naked, pale, scarred, human being cowers beside him.

The scene is quickly greeted by the convergence of the base's security. They all raise their weapons toward both Walt and the mysterious being.

And the mysterious being only says one sentence.

"I... friend..."

2. (reserved for later)

After the battle in Paradigm City, the Sol Machine known as ShelLancer trudges it's way back into the hanger bay, docks in a gantry, and powers down

A weary figure in mechanic's overalls clambers out of the cockpit, and after a bit of flailing, descends on one of the cherry picker platforms.

"What the heck was I thinking?" Dido groans, slumping down onto a bench. "I panicked, made stupid calls. And that Decepticon leader thinks I'm a turtle ninja transformer now...!"

She smiles. "...but Hot Damn, I saved some lives out there! Not bad, Dido. Not bad at–"

She looks up at ShelLancer...and finally notices the major damage it's taken: melted armor, broken off spikes, and an endless amount of scratches and dents. All of which needs to be fixed.

So many people have died recently. So many people have gotten horribly hurt. And they've all left behind the wreckage of their mechs like grave markers. Fort Alhambra is swarming with technicians and engineers of every stripe and color, some working overtime, others hastily summoned back from vacation or from other UG branches.

Dido's in the thick of things, a welding rig slung over her back as she orders tech about.

"I need ScarleTiger's arm hoisted on the gantry and ready to be reattached, stat! You, you, and you: start putting Pale Rider back together. Yeah, I know you've done it before, that's why I'm trusting you with it! The rest of you, put Virgola Unit 3 and Gipsy Danger into storage–we'll deal with them after crunch-time's over!"

She turns to face you, and her bossy expression fades to fatigue. "Hey. Did you need anything?"

[Locked to Mizuki, as well as Ken potentially]

After a long day's work, Dido's kicking back with you, holding a cool bottle of beer to her over-heated head. The refurbished Sol Machines loom overheard in their gantries. DuskBird, ScarleTiger, ShelLancer. She stares up at them for a time, then turns to you and asks.

"Could you tell me about SolBalmung?"

A comn transmission is posted on the Network, addressed to every Unity Group Pilot who's built a reputation as a stone-cold badass.

"Hi." Dido says simply, scratching her head. "I need to become a better mecha pilot. Could you train me?"

In the wake of the attack by the dimension conquering Indalph, Dido Sybil, previously an unassuming Solaris technician chief, piloted the ShelLancer machine so that Mizuki and Ken could form the combining mecha known as Sol-Savior.

A few days after the attack, Dido is walking through the hanger bay in orange mechanics overalls, carrying a roll of artificial muscle fiber looped around her shoulder.

She stops for a moment, and stares up for a time at the machine she rode in, scorched and dented here and there by the fury of combat.

Goosebumps stand out on her exposed arms. Her throat works, and she clamps a hand desperately over her mouth with a moan.

"Nope." She says. "No Way. No No No No..."

She turns around, on the verge of panic, and starts speed-walking away, breathing rapidly.

Help her calm down?
1. "DODS guns... eyeballs... Hey, cut it out! I'm trying to work here!"

*Walt lifts his eyes from his notepad to yell toward the group of people playing three-on-three basketball in the hangar, near the line of Genoaces.

The 8th Genoace team glance at him for a second, before continue laughing and playing their game, leaving Walt back to his grumbling and writing.*

" ....grumble... mumble... .good for nothing... bunch of... insensitive..."

" grumble....stupid ....survivors.... Thank you for surviving this far...."

2.Talk to the basketball players? Or even join them?

Shortly after the battle of Manilla, people get this message on the U.G. comm channel:

"Ranger Yancy Beckett here! To all those that helped hold the Miracle Mile at Manila, I just want to say, good work. I'm proud to have fought alongside you. And on that note...

Beckett raises a clenched fist. "We should try forming a social club! You know, to strengthen our bonds and all that!

So what do you think: should we set up a Kaiju-Slayers club, or a Motion-Capture Piloting club?"
*For some reason, lately Walt is getting more somber than usual. He's bugging random people now.*

Is it really just me? Can't anyone feel it? I can't ignore it anymore! It's getting stronger and stronger....

This dreadful feeling...  Like something heavy is in my chest... But it's not like those time when I forgot my antidepressant!  Something bad will happen soon, really soon...

Please believe me!

*For some reason, Walt is staring at you.  How rude. Ask him to stop?*

*Walt is standing in front of a door. He seems to be pondering something. He then notices you.*

Uhm, excuse me, may I bother you for a second? Do you mind to open this door for me?

"He's losing...!"

"Give him..."

"Move him to the medical...!"

"Cut open his suit..."

Ken manages to save Walt from being a monster chow, but Walt is still uncouncious from the explosion of his Genoace. The medical team is carting him as soon as he arrives.

"Holy shit! What is that..."

But as soon as they cut open his pilot suit...

Many eyes are staring from the flesh of Walt's left arm. Staring at the medical team, staring at the walls, staring at everything. The eyes are darting around jerkily in their sockets, blinking, looking left and right, up and down.

Needless to say, Walt moves straight to quarantine.

You might, or might not see all of these happening, since everything happens right on the hallways.

A few days later, you can see him sitting in his medical gown at Alhambra's medical bay cafeteria, staring intently at a cup of coffee, his body full of bandages. His left arm is wrapped like a mummy.

You might notice that other patients and staffs are trying to sit far away from him, leaving him a hole in the middle of a crowd.

Greet him?
*The 8th Genoace Team has been helping the evacuation of South Ataria Island for a while, and now Walt is drinking coffee in a cafetaria somewhere in between the evacuation effort.*

Another alien enemy appears, eh? And it makes our newest flagship looks like a toy with their size and their number.

Like we don't have our hand full with the UE and Wulgaru already, with their superior number and technology...

And there's this species of robots in disguise who've been fighting since before we even raised the great pyramids...

Oh wait, and it turned out that some other alien species might've toyed with us to make us build the great pyramids...

Mankind is really just an insignificant speck of dust in the universe...
1. [The safe harbor that Shu was referring to is a cave some distance away from the battle zone. There's ample space for everyone to store their machines, and necessities such as food and water are all available.

As you're getting accustomed to the layout however, a particular bird/familiar approaches you.]

So since Master isn't really himself right now, I owe you guys some explanations!

The most likely reason you've been brought to La Gias is a large-scale summoning spell. I've got no clue who the caster is, or why they did it, though.

If you've got any other questions, I can try to answer them.

[She does look a BIT more serious when it comes to the next part, however.]

...By the way, I noticed some of you recognize Master from before. Just letting you know that reminding him of the past all at once right now would be a baaad idea. That goes especially for some of you.

2. [It's not long afterwards that Shu can be found next to a VERY familiar looking device in one section of the cave. Those of you who have been with the Unity Group before would recognize this as a TSEN Device, but Shu looks confounded by its presence there...]

[The combatants from the mission have returned! But since then, you might have gotten a glimpse of one of the new people who returned with them, or for something more obvious: that mecha in the hangar. Chika's advice about those memories of his has also spread one way or another, but it's not like you'd run into him a lot anyway.

Said person is regularly found in the records' rooms of the bases (or something equivalent like a library); suspiciously going through a small number of both written and digital documents. They're not top secret stuff, so he's not breaking any rules, but still...]

((OOC: Yes, this still takes place in La Gias for prompts 1 and 2, and is the explanation as to why everyone can go home so quickly. This way we won't get multiple posts of 'what now?'. Plus, this means our newly introduced player can go ahead and frontdate to after this event if he wants to make his own post.

OOC 2: Walt tag is for anyone from the mission to tag, enjoy.))
In Alhambra base, you can see a man in military uniform standing in front of some sort of coffee machine.

"They installed an automatic coffee dispenser..."

He turns toward you and cries out dramatically.

"I'm in despair! The way human easily substituted the art of coffee making for automated, mechanized coffee-making device has left me in despair!"
